TERMINATOR 6 Gets An Official Title As Paramount Commits To Going Head To Head With CHARLIE'S ANGELS

Tim Miller's Terminator 6 finally has a title, while we have a good sign that Paramount Pictures is confident in its chances of success as it will go head to head with Charlie's Angels this November...

After creative differences with Ryan Reynolds led to Tim Miller departing Deadpool 2, he decided to instead take the helm of a sixth Terminator movie.

Now, it's been confirmed that that will indeed be titled Terminator: Dark Fate, a cheesy sounding title which unfortunately brings back memories of Salvation and Genisys (both of which were box office flops).

Regardless, it's clear that Paramount Pictures is confident in the movie because they're leaving it with that November 1st release date. In fact, it will go head to head with the Charlie's Angels reboot.

Produced by James Cameron, Terminator: Dark Fate brings back Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger and will serve as a direct sequel to the first two instalments. There's a lot of intrigue surrounding the movie and the nostalgia factor could definitely end up going in its favour this winter.

Dark Fate? sounds more like a Fire Emblem game than a Terminator movie.

@Spidey91 - I was hoping for a cheesy one like Terminator 3000.

Bring it!! Terminator 2 is the greatest action film ever, really hoping that Miller and Cameron together can recreate some of the magic from the first two Terminator films.

@HeavyMetal4Life - Literally so sad watching those gifs after seeing what the series has become.

@amesjazz -

You kind of have to think of all of the Terminator films, post T2 as very expensive fanfiction.

@SimplyAz - Haha right. They are seriously missing such a great opportunity to not show John Connor lead the resistance in the future war. Seriously the potential behind that is enormous.

@amesjazz -

As kids me and my brother would always talk about a Future War movie and how great it would be.
Cameron pretty much left the ingredients there for another Director to follow but no one did.
Still the best Adult John Connor we got was the one we saw for a minute in T2

@SimplyAz - Yup. Salvation had great ideas but also really stupid ideas. And when you put a movie of that caliber in McG's hands what do you expect?

I would say the franchise is dead and to bury it, but it’s come back from the grave so many times now that there’s just no point in even trying now.

@MUTO123 - Yeah. They keep beating that dead horse, but it's always to diminishing returns. The movies have made less and less at the bo with every flick after T2. Not a good trend. https://www.boxofficemojo.com/franchises/chart/?id=terminator.htm

@HeavyMetal4Life - Pretty sure scenes like that (where his face is half-melted off with a skull underneath) heavily influenced the casting decision. Which is great!

If I had no knowledge of the team behind this new Terminator movie, I would suspect another dud based on that title.

I figured it was just gonna be a working title, but they stuck with "Dark Fate"? Why not slap a "Dawn of..." at the begining of it too while you're at it? 😑

Just like the Aliens series imo. You got 2 good first movies, aaaaaand that's it. Let it die.

@Feralwookiee - But also like the Alien series, I think third installments in both series are much better than people give them credit for. Nowhere near the level of the first 2, but still solid ... in my opinion of course. Also, with the first 2 movies in the Alien and Terminator series, James Cameron was responsible for 3/ 4 films ... props.

I don't understand the people who say a film series should die because they personally don't enjoy it. Comes across as a very selfish attitude to have. Plenty of other people like them, so why not let them continue and try to get them back on form again?
