The beginning of Terminator: Genisys, the first of three planned films that Paramount hopes will relaunch the beloved sci-fi franchise, is set in 2029, when the Future War is raging and a group of human rebels has the evil artificial-intelligence system Skynet on the ropes. John Connor (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ Jason Clarke) is the leader of the resistance, and Kyle Reese (Divergent‘s Jai Courtney) is his loyal soldier, raised in the ruins of post apocalyptic California. As in the original film, Connor sends Reese back to 1984 to save Connor’s mother, Sarah (Game of Thrones‘ Emilia Clarke), from a Terminator programmed to kill her so that she won’t ever give birth to John. But what Reese finds on the other side is nothing like he expected.

Terminator: Genisys will feature:
Director: Alan Taylor
Arnold Schwarzenegger as the original T-800
Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor
Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese
Jason Clarke as John Connor/T-3000
J.K. Simmons as Detective O'Brien
Matt Smith as Tim/T-5000
Lee Byung-hun as the T-1000
Courtney B. Vance as Miles Dyson
Dayo Okeniyi as Danny Dyson
Gregory Alan Williams as Detective Harding
Sandrine Holt as Detective Cheung
Michael Gladis as Lietenant Matias
Aaron V. Williamson as Guardian/young T-800
Nolan Gross as Skynet

Saw this recently since it came out early in Finland. Gotta say, didn't expect much and wasn't disappointed. The movie makes as much sense as the trailer, so not a whole lot. The plot is pure crap but the main characters make it enjoyable.

I think Alan Taylor is done. That's two rubbish movies in a row for him.

I Don't think the film can be any worse than Inside Out, to be honest. Man, what happened to CGI animated movies? They're all really crap now :(

The reason this movie is getting bad criticism is because they're beating a dead horse. With Terminator, you have 2 options. Go back in time to the 80's/90's and save John, or show the war. We've had 4 movies about a T-800 going back and 1 about the beginning of the war. They need to move on and milk a different franchise.

True, let's hope their ace in their sleeve is still to come, and I agree that is a neat idea, would've been much more impactfull if it stayed a mystery till opening night though, just my threefiddy ;)

There must be more than the John Connor twist. I still don't see any reason to watch this on the big screen, though. :/

Don't let shitty movies like Frozen and Tangled cloud your judgement. Though I haven't seen inside out, it looks great. Pixar > All current Disney animated movies outside of Pixar.
