@luckylu I concur, but "killing off" doesn't exactly have the same implications on the grid now does it? Tron can be reinstalled as easily as you or I can reinstall Firefox. Tron's not dead, he's just got corrupt files.

luckylu, Tron didn't die. He just fell into the Sea of Simulation. Definitely left him open to coming back in the threequel.

tron's lights simply changed color... They didn't die out, and he wasn't derezzed. His fate was left intentionally ambiguous.

YOU KNOW FLYN PROLLY WILL COME BACK, IF ITS IN THE TRON WORLD, IF YOU HAVE SOME KIND OF BACK UP OR SOMETHING MAYBE HE CAN BE RECONFIGURED OR SOMETHING.

QUESTION: WHAT IF YOU WERE DYING AND YOU WERE DIGITIZED INTO THE WORLD OF TRON, COULD YOU PROGRAM THE COMPUTER TO REMOVE THE BAD STUFF THEN REDIGITIZE YOURSELF INTO THE REAL WORLD? HECK WHAT IF YOU COULD PROGRAM TO BOOST YOUR INTELLIGENCE, STRENGTH , SPEED?

I see TRON standing over a merged Flynn/C.L.U. who is down on the floor at the spot that they merged, helping him sit up as they both see a digital storm or something in the distance, back in the city starting to go wrong. It is the return of Sark and MCP, however they weren't aware Flynn/C.L.U. would survive (it was after all believed them merging would kill them both).

Sark/MCP believed it would therefore be easy to find and eliminate Quorra. They begin the hunt, unaware TRON and Flynn/C.L.U. are alive and seeing what is happening.

On the outside, Sam and Quorra return to Encom and this is when Dillinger realises there is a problem. MCP tells Dillinger he needs to kidnap and send back Quorra so MCP can get her or failing that kill her.

As Sam/Quorra go on the run from Dillinger, TRON and Flynn/C.L.U. attempt to bring down MCP from the Grid.

During an initial battle TRON is captured and being taken to MCP and Flynn was believed to have been killed in battle but no one sees him get derezzed. Search party sent to recover Flynn.

Flynn had survived and got away with some help from another returning face, Gem, who was saved and put on the right path by Yori.

Flynn convides in Yori and Gem that they can't risk contacting Sam and Quorra but he can't save TRON and stop MCP on his own.

They adventure off to a now abandoned area of the Grid that was only known to C.L.U. Flynn realises he has memories of C.L.U. and has an idea. At this location is a terminal that allows Flynn to do the unthinkable...


... As MCP gets ready to finally destroy TRON and receive Quorra and Sam too (now caught by Dillinger), Flynn, Gem and Yori make their entrance.

A battle ensues and against unbelievable odds, they are holding their own and manage to get TRON free and back into the battle with them.

Another stand off, but MCP has them surrounded by the sudden entry of a large army of programmes that MCP salvaged (from those C.L.U. had been preparing in Legacy).

As TRON, Gem and Yori to one another and then to Flynn, they see Flynn is not suprised or concerned. After all, they survived the initial battle and numbers game with suprising ease. There had been help after all. This same help makes an entrance as the Red army of MCP, now surrounding Flynn, TRON, Gem and Yori starts to see some of them getting derezzed out of nowhere.

F, T, G and Y notice this too. It turns out to be a light disc derezzed them, but a light disc with no light. As it returns off to the side of the battle arena, to the hand that through it, it lights up yellow/orange... It's C.L.U.!!! The unthinkable event Flynn had carried out earlier turns out to be that he had re-cloned/split from C.L.U. but had now following the merge with C.L.U. synced the new mandate of what their purpose is, what C.L.U.'s purpose is.

C.L.U. joins Flynn, Gem and Yori in attacking the red army of MCP whilst in a salute to the original, TRON faces off against MCP once more.

As they win against MCP and his army, on the outside, the still un-collected (awaiting digitizing) Sam and Quorra get free and take down the Dillingers.
