Tron Modern Trailer

Tron Modern Trailer

When the original Tron was made, moviemaking and the art of the trailer was very different. Several months ago, though, a fan decided to create a "modern" trailer for the 1982 original.

Have they said they're going to release it on Blu Ray? I have the 20th Anniversary Collector's Edition of the DVD. I noticed it was out of print. I really want it on BR. It'd be cool if Tron Legacy BR came with the original Tron movie. :D

I think the plan is for it to be issued on Blu-ray at the time Tron: Legacy is released.

@EdGross

I posted this item here a few months ago, so it must have been even longer when the fan made it.

@Vermillion. I read an article a while back that Disney had planned to release the movie in Blueray earlier, but after a screening of the original film, the audience laughed at the older special effects. So Disney delayed the release date so it wouldn't affect the ticket sales of Tron Legecy.

I just watched the original and new one today. The only thing i didn't appreciate about the sequel is they beefed up WAY too much stuff...and the Identity Discs looked different, but I'm really picky when it comes to that kind of stuff. Otherwise, I f*cking loved it.

Looks cool, but i dont know? I kinda prefer the original trailer, cause it has that classic kick in it. Plus the theme music in it gives it more kick too!
[frick]ing love the theme of these movies!

@SuspenseSmith- Everything looks different because it's a different world. Yes, it is still the same computer high tech theme, but in Tron: Legacy it's a world Flynn created.

@R8ITR- I know where you're coming from, but I don't feel that the same rules apply for trailers, especially when it's a tribute to the original. The fact is, back in the day trailers weren't what they are today. They were more like small infomercials with a brief plot summary, a couple of clips, and cast list, if that. The clips they showed weren't sliced together in any fancy way, the music wasn't a symphony of power and energy, and there was no real mounting excitement like in trailers today. Today, any trailer can be made to look [frick]ing epic, but back then trailers were just kinda there to inform you. Now, they're here to make you want to see there movie or you're just going to die. Like I said I can see where you are coming from and I feel the same way when it comes to that sort of thing, but trailers is a gray area which I differ on.

I personally loved the new Tron and am glad to see it finally getting the attention of people, and I definitely love this trailer as well.
