Andrew Garfield on the Pressures of Playing Spider-Man

even if the story of the movie suck i am pretty sure he's going to nail the role hopefully

Yeah this wont touch SPIDEY 1 & 2 in a million years but'll it'll a masterpiece compared to X-Men First Class!

i'm glad he likes spiderman... still i doubt this movie will be good... it's kinda too bad because he sounds like a nice guy but if this movie fails his career will probably be ruined... so if his career is ruined he should sue sony 4 messing up the movie and his life! then sony can sell the spiderman rights to marvel to get the money to pay him! ;)

He is a great actor, I'm sure he'll portray spider-man greater than ever, I don't like the costume, I like raimi's better. Can't wait to see him play spidey

if this is as good as "spider-man 2",i'd be pleased.

seeing "spidey" vs "the lizard" that alone has got me excited.

This movie will be awesome, the talent involved says it all.

I have faith in this movie.
Andrew Garfield is great in the social network and Marc Webb directed one of my favorite movies 500 days of summer.

He will be the best Spiderman like Tobey Maguire did.

I think Garfield might be a big deal now with the sucess of The Social Network.

Garfield’s a talented actor and a seemingly sweet guy who nonetheless is sadly mistaken if he thinks there isn’t any pressure but the self-inflicted kind in doing this film. Once it’s all in the can and the trailer is released, EVERYONE will be critiquing his performance, comparing it to Maguire’s (as well as on its own merits), and putting him under the proverbial microscope publicly until the film actually drops. So he’s screwed either way: if he fails and /or the film is a bust, OR, perversely, if the film and his performance are a success (mainly because he’s locked into a shi@#y contract that’s only paying him $500,000 for the first film, presumably with no points):

Which means that he is certainly getting low-balled by Sony for the next two films (since we all know there will be a trilogy if the first one does decently), which could also adversely affect his future earnings in other non-Spidey projects (while the studio makes a killing at the box-office and thru merchandising). All I can say is Good Luck to him, and do the damn thang!
