CTV News posted this Interview with Andrew Garfield

Andrew Garfield doesn't think playing Spider-Man will change his life.

The 27-year-old actor – who is set to portray the superhero and his alter ego Peter Parker in the forthcoming reboot of the franchise – insists he is too boring in private to attract any more attention to himself now he has landed such a high-profile role.

He said: "There's nothing interesting about my life.

"Like, I'm not stumbling out of clubs at four in the morning, you know? So there's absolutely no reason for that to happen."

The ‘Social Network' star believes the biggest pressure he has in playing Spider-Man is living up to his own ideas of the character.

He added: "I feel the pressure of my own inner four year old and that's the biggest pressure I could ever come up against. I don't need anyone else to tell me what a big deal it is because I'm Spider-Man's biggest fan."

i'm glad he likes spiderman... still i doubt this movie will be good... it's kinda too bad because he sounds like a nice guy but if this movie fails his career will probably be ruined... so if his career is ruined he should sue sony 4 messing up the movie and his life! then sony can sell the spiderman rights to marvel to get the money to pay him! ;)

He is a great actor, I'm sure he'll portray spider-man greater than ever, I don't like the costume, I like raimi's better. Can't wait to see him play spidey

I have faith in this movie.
Andrew Garfield is great in the social network and Marc Webb directed one of my favorite movies 500 days of summer.

He will be the best Spiderman like Tobey Maguire did.

Maybe he just doesn't want to make himself out to be a big deal like Tobey did...

Doesn't matter what he wants it is what the director wants. Director will beat a good actor until he becomes retarded like the George Clooney Batman. If they want him to buy a Villians love with a Credit Card then it will happen.

Garfield’s a talented actor and a seemingly sweet guy who nonetheless is sadly mistaken if he thinks there isn’t any pressure but the self-inflicted kind in doing this film. Once it’s all in the can and the trailer is released, EVERYONE will be critiquing his performance, comparing it to Maguire’s (as well as on its own merits), and putting him under the proverbial microscope publicly until the film actually drops. So he’s screwed either way: if he fails and /or the film is a bust, OR, perversely, if the film and his performance are a success (mainly because he’s locked into a shi@#y contract that’s only paying him $500,000 for the first film, presumably with no points):

http://www.getthebigpicture.net/blog/2010/7/5/the-new-spider-man-only-making-500k-for-reboot.html

Which means that he is certainly getting low-balled by Sony for the next two films (since we all know there will be a trilogy if the first one does decently), which could also adversely affect his future earnings in other non-Spidey projects (while the studio makes a killing at the box-office and thru merchandising). All I can say is Good Luck to him, and do the damn thang!

Hope it works out in his favor . . . .
