Michael Keaton Will Return As The Vulture In SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING Sequel

Earlier today, we learned that Jake Gyllenhaal is in talks with Marvel Studios to take on the role of Mysterio in the Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel but a new report confirms that villain won't be alone...

We've known for a while that the Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel will be a global affair and it now appears as if it's Mysterio who the wall-crawler will be chasing across the globe. At the end of the first movie, the wall-crawler obviously managed to defeat Adrian Toomes and put him in jail but it's now been confirmed that Michael Keaton will make his return in the follow-up as the villainous Vulture.

That's definitely a surprise considering the fact the character's story arc appeared to be over but the movie's mid-credits scene teased something for Toomes after he refused Mac Gargan's offer to out Spider-Man's secret identity and make him pay for screwing up his operation as an arms dealer. Could it be that The Vulture will be the mastermind behind the Sinister Six in the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

That's one possibility but it's equally as likely that we'll see Peter visit him in prison, perhaps for advice on how best to handle Mysterio. Then again, there's a chance he could have been the one who provided the former stuntman and VFX expert with the tech which helps him create those illusions! We'll have to wait and see but it's hard to escape the feeling Marvel is building to something...

Is this for real? Feige, you didn't have to! Thank you, I love you, get my money.

Him knowing Spiderman's identity makes me think it would be hard for him to be much of a villain anymore...

@Kman - Yeah. That credits scene seemed to be pointing towards Scorpion more than anything. Like it HAS to be as more of a supporting player. You can't have a scene like that then have him just being a villain again.

So no Scorpion after the introduction in Homecoming?

(I haven’t read Ror’s article yet🤷🏽‍♂️)

@ChangAlang - not a huge fan anyway - I feel like it wouldn't be much of departure from Vulture with another tech based suit that can just wreck shit. I dunno. Mysterio intrigues me so much more.

@Kman - I don’t know much about either character to be honest but I see what you mean regarding Scorpion.

I’d love a more mind-games type.

@ChangAlang -
Scorpion's definitely coming, but like all good things, it takes time.
Can't say the same about his lost son, though (hopefully someone gets that)...

@kRAVENklaw - I miss that guy. I had some great conversations with him.

It's too bad a lot of the old guard are gone. McGee, Gusto... hell, I even miss Jollem. And PreditorRising's "editorials" were always very entertaining.

@TomSolo -
Yeah, same.
I didn't have an account at the time (I think I'm not sure), but they always cracked me up when I would just browse the comments.
I don't think anyone knows what happened to teabag.

Love it. He was too good to kill off at the end of Homecoming. The second Peter dragged him from the fire and I saw he was still breathing I almost screamed with joy. They're learning. This is just icing on the cake, thank you Kevin.

@Forthas - Well Peter died from the snap but he's in this sequel so...

@Origame - ...or is it Miles Morales???

@Forthas - It's not unless they want Sony to pull out on their deal. Remember, Sony still holds the rights. This is a permitted use to have him in the Avengers stuff. And considering Sony is already making a separate movie about Miles, there is no chance that they would let Marvel make their own Miles Spiderman movie.
