SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME North American Release Moved Up Three Days To July 2

Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will kick off a few days earlier than originally planned, as Sony Pictures moved up the North American release of Spider-Man: Far From Home from July 5 to July 2.

Sony Pictures has confirmed that Spider-Man: Far From Home has had its North American theatrical release moved up. It will now swing into theaters on July 2 instead of its original release date of July 5.

Moving the film's release to the Tuesday as opposed to the traditional Friday slot was likely to take advantage of the extended Fourth of July break. The American holiday falls on a Thursday this year, so the extra time off could help boost its box office performance.

In addition to the holiday break, Spider-Man: Far From Home has the added perk of being the first MCU movie to release post Avengers: Endgame, effectively kicking off Phase 4 of the Cinematic Universe. Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige has previously confirmed that Far From Home will be set after the events of Endgame in the MCU timeline, so the intrigue following this month's Phase 3 conclusion should further drive interest to Far From Home.

Between the extended holiday break and the Phase 4 buzz, there's a good chance Spider-Man: Far From Home will outperform its predecessor at the box office. Spider-Man: Homecoming hauled in $117 million during its three-day opening weekend (July 7, 2017) in the U.S.

Peter Parker returns in Spider-Man™: Far From Home, the next chapter of the Spider-Man™: Homecoming series! Our friendly neighborhood Super Hero decides to join his best friends Ned, MJ, and the rest of the gang on a European vacation. However, Peter’s plan to leave super heroics behind for a few weeks are quickly scrapped when he begrudgingly agrees to help Nick Fury uncover the mystery of several elemental creature attacks, creating havoc across the continent!

Spider-Man: Far From Home's new July 2 release date is now reflected on the movie's official website and social media channels. There's no word yet if the shift in dates will impact the international release; Far From Home is currently scheduled to be release on July 4 in Australia and July 5 in the UK.

Yes I found out hours ago, quite odd. This is the 2nd time it happens because Sony apparently did the same thing with The Amazing Spider-Man.

Well the earlier, the better. (?)

If we apply the same kind of logic to this news that some people were applying to Swamp Thing cutting from from 13 to 10 episodes that means that the MCU is over, Disney's shutting down Marvel comics, and endgame probably won't even be released
