SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME Star Jake Gyllenhaal Wishes Tom Holland A Happy Birthday With Bloody BTS Photo

Today is Spider-Man: No Way Home star Tom Holland's birthday, and the actor's Far From Home costar Jake Gyllenhaal has taken to Instagram to wish him many happy returns with a new behind-the-scenes photo.

Spider-Man star Tom Holland turned 25 today, and this has led to speculation that Sony Pictures might decide to mark the occasion with a first teaser trailer (or poster, at least) for Spider-Man: No Way Home. While that remains to be seen, we do have a new behind-the-scenes shot from Far From Home courtesy of Jake Gyllenhaal.

The Mysterio actor wished his costar a happy birthday by sharing a selfie to Instagram, and judging from the pair's bloodied and battered appearance, the photo was taken immediately after filming their climactic fight scene.

While several other Spidey villains will be returning for No Way Home, Gyllenhaal's Quentin Beck is not expected to be among them, and it looks like his death at the end of the last movie is going to stick. The repercussions of his nefarious final act are sure to be felt, however.

The threequel will feature Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Spider-Man 2 actor Alfred Molina as Doctor Octopus, and TASM 2's Jamie Foxx as Electro, along with returning cast members Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Tony Revolori and Marisa Tomei. A recent rumor indicated that Rhino and The Lizard will join Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin to make up the Sinister Six.

Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield (among others) are expected to return as their respective takes on Spidey, but that's yet to be made official.

It's apparently "Black Widow week" on Jimmy Kimmel starting tonight. i'm still holding out hope that Tom H makes a surprise appearance with a certain trailer but otherwise I don't see it happening til mid-June

I'm not holding my breath out for a trailer. If anything, we'll get it attached to F9 or Black Widow. I just want some kind of confirmation about the movie amidst these crazy rumors.

Gyllenhaal and Holland's promotional interviews for FFH were better than FFH itself.

@Godzillakartt - oh we’re definitely going to get more of Mysterio.

I know of a perfect way for Beck to return and it fits with the narrative of illusions and lies. Bring Beck back as a Hologram. Have the drones project Mysterio/Beck to mentally mess up Peter and make him question if Beck is really dead or not. Have William be in total control of the drones and narrative and allow Mysterio to exist as a Hologram. William could be working with the Tinkerer in helping the Sinister Six.

Far From Home might be amongst my least favorite Spider-Man movies, but Gyllenhaal was great (even when the twist wasn't surprising at all). Really hope he returns

Happy Birthday, Tom Holland.

I enjoyed both Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home.
