SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME Synopsis Confirms CCXP Trailer Description; Main Cast List Revealed

We may have to wait a little longer for the first Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer than we initially thought, but we did recently get a description of the footage that screened at Comic-Con Experience Brazil over the weekend, and now we have a synopsis to go along with it.

The brief logline was released by Disney Russia so we've had to run it through Google translate, but it makes it clear that Peter Parker will be working for Nick Fury. It also references The Elementals that were first mentioned in the trailer breakdown.

"Peter Parker and his friends go on summer holidays to Europe. However, the friends will hardly be able to rest - Peter will have to agree to help Nick Fury uncover the mystery of creatures that cause natural disasters and destruction throughout the continent."

The principal cast list was also released, and while it doesn't contain any surprises, it is interesting that Samuel L. Jackson is given second billing after Tom Holland. Granted, he is arguably the biggest star here, but the placement does also suggest that he'll have a larger role in the movie than we'd been led to believe.

"Tom Holland, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Keaton, Jon Favreau, Jake Gyllenhaal, Zendaya, Marisa Tomei, Cobie Smulders."

Spider-Man: Far From Home also stars Jacob Batalon, Remy Hii, and Tony Revolori, and is scheduled to swing into theaters on July 5, 2019.

Interesting. The plot sounds quite cool.

Holland's gonna need that "Kill Mode" for sure.

@L0RDbuckethead - I've always wondered if that was a dig at Snyder's Superman

@Brave - What, the Kill Mode? Nah, I never saw it as that. Just a funny nod to how powerful the AI in his suit was. Which, if you ask me, was a poor decision on the part of the filmmakers. Hopefully this black "SHIELD Stealth" suit will be a little bit less powerful in disposing of Mysterio and these Elementals or whatever they're calling them.

@Brave -
I've always wondered why Spiderman has an AI suit at all.

@L0RDbuckethead - It kinda made him read more like the Jaime Reyes Blue Beetle to me. Didn't care for it. Spiderman doesn't need that.

The plot sounds like an episode of an animated Spider-Man show, not really a huge summer blockbuster.

Here's hoping...

I actually like the sound of it.
