SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME Scene Details May Explain Why Doctor Strange & Spidey Face-Off - SPOILERS

The first Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer confirmed that Peter Parker (Tom Holland) and Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) will come to blows, and this scene description might just explain why...

The recent Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer certainly left us with a lot to discuss, but aside from the Multiverse teases and hints at several returning villains, one thing that stood out was a shot of Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Spidey (Tom Holland) doing battle on what looked like a moving train.

Though we'd like to assume that Strange simply wanted to give Parker a beating for being such a bloody idiot and interrupting his spell, there may be a little more to it. The guys at The Cosmic Circus (who have had some solid scoops in the past) have shared new details on what leads to this superhero-showdown, which reportedly begins with Parker stealing an artifact from the Sorcerer Supreme's Sanctum Santorum.

Apparently, this mysterious cube does not originate in the comic books, but whatever it is, it must be something Strange is willing to take down the Webhead to regain possession of. Parker is said to utilize his spider-sense to evade most of Strange's attacks, but the Master of the Mystic Arts is ultimately able to capture his opponent with the Cloak of Levitation, which holds him in place long enough for the good Doctor to have a little word with the teenage hero.

This sounds like an exciting sequence, but really, there's not a whole lot here that couldn't have been pieced together by simply watching the trailer, so we're not sure whether to take this as much more than a connecting of the dots.

What do you guys think? Have another look at the trailer below, and drop us a comment in the usual place.

As we previously reported, this trailer broke the 24-hour all-time record for most global views with a whopping 355.5 million, obliterating the previous record held by Avengers: Endgame, which drove 289 million views. Unsurprisingly, there's even more buzz surrounding this next trailer because fans are convinced we'll finally get to see Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's versions of the Webhead in action.

Of course, their involvement has yet to be made official, but all signs are pointing to the previous big-screen Spideys returning to help Tom Holland's Peter Parker battle a Multiversal incarnation of the Sinister Six.

While specific plot details remain under wraps, we do know that Peter will go to Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and ask him to cast a spell to make the world forget that he's really Spider-Man. This has disastrous consequences, as the likes of Doctor Octopus (Alfred Molina), Electro (Jamie Foxx), and other Multiverse villains are unleashed.

I think maybe that's Strange's prison and maybe Peter was trying to go after them on his own. That's the only thing I can think of that makes sense for Peter to steal it

Am I only one who feels that Strange isn't acting *too much* out of character in the stuff we have seen in so far? Like, remember, this isn't the comic Doctor Strange and he isn't even official been titled the next sorcerer supreme. He still is fairly arrogant and not the all-knowing wise mentor.

So the answer to why Dr strange is fighting Spiderman over a mysterious cube is because Dr strange...wants the cube...and why he wants it is a mystery.

And I like how you even mention in the article none of this is anything we couldn't figure out by watching the trailer.

Yeah it’s fairly obvious those leaks for the first act of the movie were legit, and ~Doctor Strange wants the mystery cube artifact from Spidey~ isn’t the base reason the two are fighting here…
