Who Will Be The Villain In The New Spider-Man Movie?

Now that Spider-Man is being rebooted, the question is who will be the villain...

With the new Spider-Man film coming out the main question is who will be playing the villain

The Lizard: Of course we were disappointed with the fact that the Lizard was built up in the first three films and never made it on film. Let’s not forget that are the rumors so far are that the lizard will be the villain.



The Vulture: Perhaps this film could give a villain a proper usage and if any bad guy deservers a good portrayal it is the Vulture.



Electro: Let’s just say a guy who shoots electricity in 3D good enough for me



Hydro-Man: He is a villain who besides being amazing in 3D he is a lesser known bad guy who could be a pleasant surprise



The Villains from the past movies: It would be nice if these characters got a decent portrayal. Plus it would be nice if Venom got more then 10 minutes of screen time. However I'd wait till the second movie like Batman did.

I hope it's the Chameleon, and vulture actually.
Be true to the comics, have the first two villains.

I'm hoping for (and kind of expecting) the Lizard. Good visual, great action potential, but also a tragic story/arc.

I'm torn on this. The primary bitch, or at least one of them, I had about the Raimi films was his habit of making sympathetic villains out of those who, classically, were not.

I really want to see Lizard, but he is too similar in many ways to Raimi villains because he was designed to be a sympathetic villain... It’s a struggle: more of the same even though in this case it is canonically correct, or a different truly evil vicious bastard like Doc Ock.

If it has to be a villain we've not seen before see above about Lizard, but if not him I'd go with Electro, Shocker, or Mysterio would be really fun.

I would like to see Goblin again one day in his proper form, but I like the idea of getting to know Osbourne over a flick or two before thrusting him into the role of Spidey's greatest enemy.

@NERO, I always liked the Lizard/Kraven combo.Connors becomes the Lizard and terrorizes the city.Kraven decides he's the ultimate prey and begins to hunt him.Spider-Man ends up taking down Lizard and Kraven then decides Spider-Man is the ultimate prey.Kraven then attacks Spider-Man but is defeated.Kraven juices himself up with something similar to the Lizard formula and sets out to hunt Spider-Man with his new abilities.Kraven sets up traps all over the place, turning the city into a hunting ground.Spider-Man eventually defeats a maniacal Kraven.He also has to diffuse some of the traps that are rigged to hurt people.

If they're starting over and including Gwen, I think it would be a good idea to build their relationship as well as Norman's character before turning him into Green Goblin in the third movie.I guess they could end with her death, if they wanted too.

it will be his greatest foe,the green goblin.

its a reboot,so the first movie is normally is his greatest foe.

if they do anyone else,then they might as well of just made spider-man 4.

sony should of just rebooted the cast & director,then continued the story.

I would prefer that they build Norman up as his own character in the first movie as well.

The greatest foe shouldn't be in the first film.He has to work his way up the ladder of villains.Green Goblin, who is his most intelligent, vicious and psychotic enemy, should be saved for last.

i know what you're saying,but how many people would of gone to see the fantastic four movie.

if the first villain was the mole man & not dr.doom.

i for one would love it to the be chameleon & i would of gone to see the fantastic four if they were up against the mole man.

but film studios don't what to please just hardcore fans,they got appeal to everyone.

3rd- Mysterio, Vulture

that's it really, sounds solid and mysterio in 3D badassery is a must for the 3rd installment
(assuming of course we get this far and it doesn't bomb)

Spider-Man has one of the best rogue's galleries in comics. There are a lot of good villains besides GG that would make for a very good film and would fit fine in the reboot. Did Batman Begins suffer because Joker wasn't in it? No. Green Goblin doesn't have to be in it in order for the reboot to be successful.

so how comes that never happen with Batman Begins when the Joker was not in movie. their is other villains in the Spider-Man universe the Green Goblin could come in the future sequel they can built up Norman Osborn slowing becoming the Green Goblin.

i also would love to see them have plan a great story that would lead into something mega epic.

if you can find a decent director who can handle multiple charactors.

spider-man
villains-dr octopus,electro & mysterio

spider-man 2
villains-kraven the hunter,sandman & vulture

spider-man 3
villains-the sinister six
heroes-maybe some charactors that can help spider-man battle the sinister six.

the other way to do this,is spread the villains over three films than have a fourth film called spider-man enter the sinister six.

your right about batman begins it worked because it showed the events after his parents death where he learnt his fighting skills.

but batman begins isn't that great a movie,sorry.

nowhere the level of the dark knight.

even tim burtons batman went straight for the joker.

with spider-man you could of quite easily done

spider-man - the green goblin

spider-man 2 - dr octopus & the sandman

spider-man 3 - venom

they need to start roughly at the begining with a storyline from the early days with a decent fan favorite then try & bring it up to date with a more modern story.

yes,i agree with you on the lizard.

if not a reboot origin story,the lizard is perfect.

the last spider-man trilogy must be still fresh in peoples memories.

you only need do an origin story,if his origin changes at all in the ultimate universe.

i don't know,i'm a proper universe fanboy.

Well the Chameleon was the first followed in order by - the Vulture, Dr. Octopus, the Sandman, the Lizard and Electro. Those are the first 10 issues. We have seen two of them, with the 4th movie was going to feature the Vulture and maybe the Lizard.

The Vulture would be an interesting choice, the Lizard could go more into the muntigen nature of Spider-man. I doubt they would race to redo any previous villains at this point.

Now also take into consideration the desire as of late for down the road movies and groups. Example The Avengers and JLA. Spider-man could go the same path, ether the Sinister Six, starting to introduce their members for a later movie. So that would mean - Doctor Octopus, Mysterio, Electro and The Vulture for sure. Then depending on which continuities you want to go with, you could toss in The Sandman, The Hobgoblin and the Chameleon. Plus an odd few others.

If they want to take it on the flip side of his hero group. He was infact a member of The Avengers line for a short time.

i still want to see carnage. i hope they do it like The Incredible Hulk where they show you the origin during the begining credits. i would love to see the lizard and if they decide to use the green goblin i want the ULTIMATE version

those of you that have read the comics know that norman fights spider-man as gg, but a small cameo is what it is. gg don't come back until later on. kraven and lizard shud be the villians for the first one. kraven hunts the spidey, and conners becomes lizard more towards the end like two-face's arc. to me that'd be the best way to do it. gg shud make a small cameo as shud shocker.

i so agree with the first comment of patriautism, yor rock man, and your so right lets reboot this the right way the way stan lee wrote it. with the first 2 villians spidey ever face. make the vulture the main villian with the chamelion as a supporting role and theyre we have the best spiderman movie ever made =)

Carnage!!!!!! No one even mentioned Carnage at all! Does anyone remember him? Every villain I have seen mentioned in here. Every one thinks a theiving criminal rates up against a murder like Kasady I have no idea.
How is a theif more threatening to spiderman then a murderer? Every single villain I read that everyone named off was a theif.

rhino to start and his super powered suits creator farley stillwell and his other creation, the scorpion suit. gargan being played by josh holloway. rhino should be in and out quick. show a lot of background on jj and his disdain for the wall crawler. maybe even have the rescue from the space capsule of john jameson. could have an unsympathetic villain like scorpion. make for some awesome action sequences, and could have easter eggs to lead into other villains. in 2 have lizard and kraven. have lizard kill kraven at the end of 2 and bring in chameleon and lizard in 3. electro in 4 with a brief cameo by shocker.
