Margot Robbie Hopes To Film SUICIDE SQUAD 2 Next Year; Doesn't Know Anything About JOKER/HARLEY QUINN Spinoffs

After Jared Leto expressed his confusion about the upcoming Joker spinoff earlier this week, his co-star Margot Robbie has also come out and admitted that she has no idea what Warner Bros. is planning.

Suicide Squad star Margot Robbie is currently making the rounds at the Toronto International Film Festival, promoting her upcoming biopic I, Tonya, which premiered to rave reviews yesterday with Robbie receiving tons of praise for her performance as disgraced former Olympic figure skater Tonya Harding. Now, while a majority of her day was spent in interviews for the upcoming movie, she also took a little time to provide a small update on her future as Harley Quinn and the current state of DC Films.

While speaking with The Wrap, Robbie revealed when she expects to be back as the colorful villain, "I think next year I’ll be back in the fishnets wielding a baseball bat. I hope.” Her statement essentially confirmed a recent report that claimed the fast-tracked Suicide Squad sequel, which recently landed Gavin O'Connor (Warrior) as writer/director, would film sometime during the backend of 2018.

However, when pressed about the rumored Harley Quinn spinoffs, which may or may not include Gotham City Sirens and/or Joker & Harley Quinn, Robbie admitted - just like Jared Leto before her - that she was basically in the same boat as fans and knew as little about the studio's convoluted plans as we do
. "Your guess is as good as mine at this point. I don’t know.

I'm so surprised she survived the final battle in SS just like how Batman somehow survived Doomsday in BvS

I don't feel like you need either SS 2 or Harley/Joker. Actually i dn't think Margot's Harley Quinn is that good of a female character. Unless you count good female cbms characters based on butt shots.

@Jeight8 - You don't think a female character who's story ends with her going back to her abusive boyfriend is a good character?

(Though looking at Suicide Squad, Joker was never once abusive towards at Harley. He never once mistreated Harley. God Suicide Squad sucks. I blame WB moreso because they don't have the [frick]ing balls to show Joker smack a bitch thanks to the Hot Topic/tumblr fandom who loves Harley & they were selling the film to)

@LEVITIKUZ - I clearly meant DCEU Harley. Mad Love is one my favorite DCAU eps. Batman's laugh gets me every time. Couldn't care less about DCEU Harley. There is nothing interesting about her.

We are told that she is fearless and 10 seconds later screams that she can't swim and pleads to Joker to save her.

We are told she fell in love with the Joker. We don't know why or what transpired. We are taken from point A to point C skipping point B.

We are told she somehow is good fit for SS. WHY?

@Jeight8 - I was talking about DCEU Harley lol. Suicide Squad ends with Joker & Harley back together.

We are told that she is fearless and 10 seconds later screams that she can't swim and pleads to Joker to save her.

Not only fearless but more crazy than Joker lol

We are told she fell in love with the Joker. We don't know why or what transpired. We are taken from point A to point C skipping point B.

This is one thing I hate about the DCEU & why The Dark Knight Trilogy is great (hear me out bc it's Batman related).

The Dark Knight Trilogy was great because we got a beginning, middle, & end. We saw Batman's origin, hear Ra's origin, heard Joker's origin, saw Two-Face's origin, & saw Talia & Bane's origin.

Meanwhile the DCEU has this older Batman who we know nothing about. We know nothing about his journey or what he has faced. We have Aquaman, Joker, Harley, Flash, Cyborg, & more DC characters who exist. They exist & we know nothing about their past. We know Wonder Woman because her film was a flashback. Aquaman' film is said to have flashbacks too. But the point I'm making is WB is treating these characters as if you need to have knowledge about them & their history going in.

Which is how you don't make movies. Unless it's a sequel. Then you should be expected to know stuff about it going it because of previous film connected to it lol
