I've heard so much about that script -- most of it bad -- that I have to read it.

From what I heard at the time Krypton was never destroyed, Lex was also a Kryptonian but didn't know until part-way through the movie. Lex had the same powers as Kal-El since he was the next-to-last son of a not-quite-destroyed Krypton, which he used to cause major havoc. The script supposedly ended with a titanic Lex/Kal-El fight that destroyed Metropolis.

The script leaked or was given to Harry Knowles by someone close to Abrams and all those blasphemous changes to the Superman mythos were revealed. Fans were pissed. All hell broke loose online. It was a huge controversy on the big film/comic book fansites of the time with 99% of Superman fans outraged that Lex had powers and Krypton survived. Most of us didn't have the script to read ourselves, of course, so we went by what Knowles told us. A lot of fans were majorly relieved when WB passed on the script.

Hey, here's an idea...
Why not try actually reading the script before you pass judgement?

This may be a novel approach for some of you, being informed before you state your opinion, but you just might enjoy the experience.

I just got done reading it.. Honestly.. its a great script! Of cos its not loyal to the comics at all and would make for a very unpopular "Superman Movie". But just as a standalone script, its awesome. Just take away Krypton's Survival, change Ty-Zor to Zod and have him Throw him in the PZ at the end you have a winner!
