With less than six months to go until Man of Steel hits, many fans have been wondering about Jimmy Olsen. Where is he? Why we have not seen anything about him? Well, it might be because there's no "him". HE is actually HER. Will we see a female version of Jimmy Olsen in Man of Steel?

According to IMDB, unknown actress Rebecca Buller is playing Jenny Olsen in the upcoming Superman movie, Man of Steel.




IMDB is not the most reliable source in the world, but, watching the trailer, the girl running from the bursting building alongside Laurence Fishburne's Perry White looks a lot like Buller.



Change can annoy some purists fans - and even those who are not as demanding - but the controversy raises an interesting debate about sexism in comic books and comic books adaptations. We're already familiar with the ethnicity changes in comic book movies, but what about the change of gender of a character? Is it too much? Could this be a reflection of modern society trying to fix past mistakes with regard to sexual segregation in old social orders? Or is it irrelevant? Leave your thoughts in the comment section.

It's less than 5 months not 6. Learn how to count. And I don't care, Jimmy is an annoying side character anyway so they might as well turn him into something that's easy on the eyes. That said, it's IMDb, so take it with a huge grain of salt.

I cant say that I care much... Especially after the change on Perry White, I am ready to see lots of different stuff... Some aspects of Superman had to change to make the movie and the character more acceptable... My primary concern is about WHO will Julian Richings ("Death" from Supernatural) portray in the movie... It has been about a year since he stated that he is in the movie, but he is still uncredited... Really big mystery which intrigues me... All we know is his description about being in a scene on Kryptonian soil, along with Crowe and Shannon... So it has to be Jax Ur, Zor El or Brain.IA.C.

I have absolutely no problem with Heimdall being black in Thor. It's Marvel's interpretation of the mythology, not the actual mythology.

@ManOfKrypton, I don't think that's true, at all. He's not just a side character. He's Superman and Clark Kent's closest friend. Not only that, he's one of the few non-powered supporting characters to have his own series. One that lasted for 20 years.

Not only that, he's notable as the first character to encounter and interact with the Fourth World characters, as well as Cadmus.

I hope she's Jimmy's sister, it would be sad to not include Jimmy, of course they could introduce him later as the new photographer Jenny's brother Jimmy.

I found that she appears to be almost smiling for most of this shot, where she's running away from the collapsing building with Perry "White"
