As a fan of Smallville, I have to say that I'm apart of the group of people who usually don't like Smallville's filler episodes. The filler episodes in Smallville usually distract heavily from the main storyline of the season and this episode was no different. However, I have to say that it was one of the better fillers and better episodes this season.

Now as we all have seen and speculated, this episode borrows its plot from The Hangover. The story revolves around an engagement party for Clark and Lois (pardon me, Lois and Clark) gone awry.

The episode starts off with the Smallville gang (Lois, Clark, Chloe, Oliver, Tess, and Dr. Emil) celebrating Lois and Clark's engagement and getting ready for a night on the town. That's when everything got hazy. The next immediate scene is from the clip we've seen this past week of Clark waking up to discover Chloe past out in a closet, wedding rings on their fingers, a lemur in the the bedroom.

The rest of the episode is what you'd expect. It follows Chloe and Clark trying to discover what happened the night before. The episode follows them trying to answer the questions: Did they get married, did they do "the deed" and did Clark rob an armored car?

The rest of the episode features shenanigans with Lois attempting to get her engagement ring back from a club owner she bet to the night before, which leads to a funny-yet-frightening moment with Oliver in drag as showgirl, and Dr. Emil doing a Elvis impersonation/duet with Tess.

The rest episode featured Amos Fortune as the main villain for the episode as he attempted to coerce the name of the benefactor who "stole" his money from Emil. Also, the episode somewhat brought an end to the Chloe/Oliver romance arc. Their arc ended with the discovery of THEIR drunken marriage (not Clark and Chloe's) and Chloe's apparent departure for a job in Star City at the Star City Reporter.

The episode did not feature an appearance from Zatanna though her presence was defintitely felt and they was no evident influence from Darkseid shown in Oliver either in this episode either. Th episode did indeed finish with a big "OMG" moment as promised as it was discovered that Emil and Tess in fact "did the deed" as the Smallville gang recapped the "lost" night through their video camera at the conclusion of the episode.

Concluding thoughts: I thought it was one of the funnier Smallvile episodes in a while and though it didn't have anything to do with the Darkseid storyline, it made for a good episode. If you didn't get to see it, I recommend checking it out when it hits the web in a few days.

So Batman and Wonder Woman really do exist in Smallville, that's just awesome. Now I really wish they'd keep this going somehow, maybe even a Star City spinoff with Oliver and Chloe...and Superman lol.

Yea not a huge fan of this episode, but I liked how it had a huge amount of locations. Batman reference was really cool, 10 years in the making.

interesting how we all watched it and the only memorable thing was references to characters who have never or will never appear on the show.

Then again, the girls were lookin pretty hot in this one. But at the end of the day, it was just filler. Considering the last episode ended with green arrow having the omega symbol on his forehead, you'd think the next episode would have him think or act even a LITTLE differently

@Armageddon26 - Chloe tells Clark in the barn that she met a billionaire with cool toys and a wonderous woman that'll throw him for a loop.

That said, this episode was good, but it was still filler. It wasn't the way I was expecting to see the last of Chloe, or Oliver, especially since Chloe didn't even say goodbye to her cousin Lois. I don't know if Chloe and Oliver will be back for the finale, but I hope so, especially since nothing's been done with Oliver in regards to the Omega symbol burned in his skull. That said, while I wish they would've done something with Oliver being corrupted by the Darkness, I do love the fact that Oliver and Chloe were married and they left together.

Also, I don't like that Clark didn't have his glasses on. Granted, he wouldn't need to being around his friends, but out in public like when he found Tess and Emil, you'd think he'd be wearing them since he just got them. They're his disguise now.

Still, this is like a "B" or "B+" episode for a filler episode, but in the end, it's still filler. Here's hoping next week's episode will be even better.

a wondrous woman that'll throw him for a loop....uunnhhhh the pun it burns...really, thats really hitting the tip of pandering. I get it, people like this show, its not for me, Sucks that theres NO ZATANNA. So don't call me a hater, I think throwing out fan service like that is very cheesy, the comic books wouldn't do something that stupid, and trust me they have done TONS of strange or stupid things

@MrMO.....yeah like all those stupid rumors about Robin in TDKR, why introduce him if they are going to end that story chain

Worst. Episode. Ever. The writers whipped it out and pissed on Wonder Woman, Batman, Oliver's real relationship with Dinah, and The Hangover. Dumb. So dumb.

What is wrong with you people by the way? How many villainous super geniuses don't know Batman's identity, but Chloe freaking Sullivan gets to discover him? That's the biggest freaking crap, crap, crap, crap, crap I've ever heard. And I'm not like Teabag or Grif. I watch Smallville and I'm a fan, but this was terrible.

And I did not like seeing Oliver dressed up in drag. Chloe just got used to calling Oliver her boyfriend. She's okay with them being married? Oh please! Smallville is so inconsistent, she probably forgot she was ever married to Jimmy and thinks Oliver is her first husband.

Actully I never wanted to see Oliver Queen as a Vegas Show girl I let one long Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwweeeeeeeeeee and I though Wesley Snipes made an Ugly woman.

As for the Mentions of Batman and Wonder Woman i will say nice touch though I would have liked Chloe giving a more indepth reference and possibly mention the Green Lanters. And Next Week Superboy (oh thats nonsence)

Oliver in drag was scarring. That was not funny. I will never look at the same way again. He is so not attractive anymore. And dressing up right then didn't even make any sense! That was a completely terrible plan. And Clark could have taken care of those bad guys and saved Hamilton in a few seconds, they just wanted some ridiculous fight scene. The episode didn't make any sense. It doesn't matter if all the characters were drunk. The only way this episode makes sense is if the writers, producers, and director was completely smashed while writing this episode.

I liked the episode to a point. The whole Batman and Wounder Women reference was awesome, but Chloe and Oliver married??? WTH......... It dose not really fit when in the last few minutes of the last episode we saw good old Ollie with an Omega symbol on his skull? So what they both take off for a few shows and then come back to tie it all up???

"A billionaire with a lot of high tech gadgets and a wondrous woman that will throw you for a loop"....Once again Crapville teases us with something we'll never see.

@supersayianfan1 Thanks. I realized something about Chloe. I've read a lot of Dragonball Z fanfiction and someone would usually try to make up their own original characters and they'd basically be like the main character, especially in AU fanfiction. Heck, I've done it myself. But Chloe is that original character that the writer wants to be so important and relevant to the actual characters that people know! Smallville is nothing more to me now than a glorified fanfiction. I will NEVER refer to it as an alternate reality again. It doesn't deserve it.

I guess I'm slow because I didn't make the Batman/Wonder Woman connection at the time. I just simply took it as referring to Oliver as the billionaire with toys and Lois as the the woman that will throw him for a loop. Guess I'll have to watch it again...

Why does eveyone keep saying borrowed from the Hangover?!? This plot of waking up with no memory and retracing your steps has been done many times before...in my opinion Hangover ripped off Dude Where's My Car... yea i said it... and hangover is way overhyped - pretty average flick
gorgeousgeeks
gorgeousgeeks - 2/28/2011, 10:50 AM
@Hotlunch Waking up with no memory because you're smashed is not an original concept. Smallville ripped off Hangover because there were MANY plot points that were identical to Hangover. And last week they ripped off Date Night and Collateral ripped off Matrix.

To defend Smallville and not saying that this episode is a rip off, or the past few, is just fail.

I have to agree that this episode sucked and I just couldn't wait for it to be over! It had too many inconsistencies. Like why the hell did Oliver and Lois let themselves get tied up when the guards weren't armed? They could've easily flattened them as they were approaching.

I just hope they're done with fillers. Time is of the essence, and May is fastly approaching. Come on production crew! Get back on track!

Agreed, they've run out of time. Wrap up the outstanding storylines and get on with suiting up and actually BEING Superman, at least for a couple of minutes.

the Batman referance is chloe talking to Clark "I've been around this world and seen many things, a Billionaire with High tech toys (Batman) and a Wonderous Woman that will even throw even you for a Loop (Wonder Woman)" Im not sure if its exact but it's along those lines.

Why do people keep knocking the Smallville writers. Can't you see they are starting to get mad?
