Thoughts On How Lex Luthor Will Return To Smallville

The Lex we know is dead and the Lex in Season 10 is Superboy so how could he really come back? Here's what I have to say ...

We finally heard fantastic news about the Finale , Michael Rosenbaum will be back for the Finale , the producers came up with a story about Lex creating clones , and one of them survived and he is rapidly aging ( fast mitoses ) and evolving into the Lex we know ( Michael Rosenbaum ) but it was comfirmed from The SMALLVILLE crew that Alexander clone is indeed Superboy , tht's a really huge turning point in the last few episodes .
So how exactly will the villain of the story return ? We don't know yet . But here are some thoughts of mine of how he actually embraces his destiny in the 22th Episode .

- The Real Lex might still be alive , after he was injured in The Arctic he cloned himself as seen in season 10 , the bleeding Lex might have been a clone all along , he was paralysed as seen in his last episode in Season 8 maybe because he cloned this decoy clone when he was still healing ... That explains him wearing a respiratory mask ( the one we saw in Season 8 Episode 14 Requiem ) and the actual Alexander managed to heal himself from the clones seen in Cadmus that would explain why the 2 functionning clones ( little Lex and old Lex ) we're locked in a room , because they weren't useful since the creator was cured !

- Alexander clone played by Lucas Grabeel in Episode 13 Season 10 " Beacon " turned out to be non other then Kon-El ( Conner Kent ) ! This clone had Clark and Luthor's DNA that would explain why Lex grew back his hair after he shaved it in Episode 6 " Harvest " . This Lex is rapidly aging each time he grows up he becomes more evil then ever since he has all of the creators memories , so maybe when he finally grows into Michael Rosenbaum all the good inside him will indeed disappear and hatred will consume him .

- The main villains in Season 10 are Darkseid & his minions , his darkness tempers on wavering souls , the rage and anger starts consuming people that way they destroy everything in their path , that might be another way to make Lex become the badass he is destined to be . And probably at the end of the finale Kent removes the darkness from Luthor ( if that was possible ) and holds the clone in his arms while he died and Lex would tell him : i'm just a failed experiment Clark " and the Clark would respond : you'r my friend ... " Changing DC COMICS' take on how their relationship goes in time , giving the show a unique plot by seeing Lex redeeming himself .

- What if there was actually a clone that never died in the Cadmus Lab fire , and was being formed at the exact age Lex was injured , he would already have anger and hatred in his heart , nothing but that , and would fit perfectly , he could actually kill Superboy the clone who turned to the good side and turned against the man who created him .

- We've seen the parallèle universe in the Episode 'Luthor' and Lex was claimed dead , but maybe , just like on Earth 1 he had his scientists work on clones to continue his journey , and maybe Clark would go there again and face off with him one last time

- The Lex in the car explosion managed to run away before the bomb triggered , or the person in that car wasn't really Lex or a clone of Lex just another person sacrificing hisself so Lex doesn't getexposed he is surviving ( that idea is a bit to amateur , I know )

After the fortress solitude fell on him lex was paralysed he was relying ona project called " prometheus" hed get powers like clark and have a skin from kryptonite radiation that would kill clark unfortunatsly lana lang used itto prevent lex from doing it sacricing herself , she cldnt stay next to clark anymore since hed be hurt ,so clark went after the lex which was allbleeding and secretely hiding somewhere ( chloe tracked him) then as clark came near him the car lex was in exploded, oliver queen killed him

I think a lot of people are thinking a bit too much about this and are over complicating it, he's either coming back as a clone or the real deal isn't dead SIMPLE

The real lex got teleported to where darksied is so Lex made a deal with darkside and thats why darkside is on earth makes more sense I think

YOU MISSED SOMETHHING ELSE MATE!

Zatanna...gave oliver a wish in the episode where he had to steal her fathers book, and when he had the chance to wish he looked at the news paper with ''the death of lex luthor'' sooo the REAL lex might come back from that

It will (probably) be the "Original" Lex. The clone storyline was created as a fail safe/backup plan, in case they couldn't get Rosenbaum to return.. they could either continue with the clone storyline and use another actor (or, keep him young), or they could have Rosenbaum pop up at the end. Now that they DO have Rosenbaum, they probably added that scene where Tess tries to inject young Lex with the needle and bends it. By doing that, they've now changed the direction of the clone storyline and made room for Rosenbaum.

They COULD use Rosenbaum as a clone Lex, but it's highly doubtful. If they got Rosenbaum to come back, I can't imagine they wouldn't take FULL advantage of that, and bring back 'original LEX'

My god Superman 1991 you are so right , that's probably it ! Maybe zatanna made his wish come true but hey ArrionShadow i dont think lex would do a deal with Darkseid i mean this ain't a cartoon show where the darkness does contracts :p

@BigChief16

This is only response article about Smallville will ever get from me.
I don't hate Smallville completely (I found season 9 to be quite enjoyable) and there are some other pretty good episodes in earlier seasons.

But overall Smallville is a load of useless shit and Welling is probably worst actor on TV atm.

@lxks96- Good theories there! I don't wanna go and assume though that the Lex we saw in the breathing mask was actually a clone itself...though a very interesting POV i must say! ;D

I'm thinking and HOPING that maybe the Lex we THOGUHT died in the truck bombing might have somehow survived the explosion.

Highly unlikely I know...but I'm grasping at straws here! :D
