More than likely it will look for one of the great subsequent story lines from the Jeph Loeb comics series, but all the details are sketchy at best for 'Superman/Batman 2'. Still it's amazing news.

Story could be the timeline twisting "Absolute Power" or the ultimate Maximus alternate-reality bending "With a Vengeance". Or many of the other great stories from Loeb's comic series that could come to animated life, we will have to wait and see.

LEEE777 - Many thanks to the guys at Mania for the exclusive and I think it's great we're getting a sequel out of this. I totally loved the first one and it's was a big nine out of ten as an animated movie in my book, i'd say it's the best yet. aI for one cant wait for this and the new JLA animated coming out. The DC Universe as just got sweeter, happy days!

Yeah, this movie took off way more than I thought. I was at Target yesterday and they had action figures made from THIS SPECIFIC animated film. I would definitely say there will be more on the way!

They should focus on the second story arc from the comics which involved the arrival of Kara.

LEEE- It was a pretty solid story and the art by the late Michael Turner was awesome! If they could use his art concept like they did Ed's for Public Enemies the animation would be stellar.

nice! I only watched the first one yesterday and I really liked it. Sure the plot was a little thin and Lex Luthor reminded me way too much of Captain Black from Jackie Chan Adventures but the action and voice cast were so awesome and just hearing a Kevin Conroy-voiced Batman and Tim Daly-voiced Superman having such hilarious conversations made it so enjoyable

Superman: Why is it that good villains never die?
Batman: Clark, what the hell are good villains?

Batman: I suppose it's useless to tell you to leave.
Superman: I wouldn't miss this for anything.
Batman: Your funeral.
Superman: Already had one.

Such good lines!

the end nearly ruined this movie for me. it was so good until they bust out the giant half supes, half batman outer space robot thing.

@SHHH

Yea, that was the best line

Another good bit was this:

Batman: The kryptonite is near your heart. I don't know if I'll be able to get to it before the wound closes.
Superman: Where's the Flash when you need him?
Batman: Do me a favor and lose the sense of humor.
Superman: Do us both a favor and buy one.

Yea I seen this a few weeks ago and it was straight out of the comics I have the issue. Im not sure how I felt or feel about that it was like I already seen it. One thing I didnt like was the art work there were scences where Captain Atom looked like a steriod monster. Tone down the muscles a bit and draw the characters a little bit more realistic.
Why would Green Lantern need to be a muscle-man Hal Jordan is a f-16 fighter pilot or something like that his power is his mind not muscles. GL is just an example of what Im saying I know we're talking about Superman&Batman.
Besides the artwork and the flowing movements of the characters I SAY PICK UP A COPY IT'S WORTH THE BUY OR RENTAL FOR SURE. I'd just love to see one comicbook character in CGI LIKE the beginning of the first Ulitmate Alliance video game. Now that would work and sells would be very profittable VERY. How many of you would like to see a CGI Avengers,JLA,JSA,or one of your favorite characters that hasnt hit the big screen or hasnt been done right yet?

@bizarro- You have a point, but I agree with teabag. Nolan is great with the Bat-stuff, but he would suck at trying to find a good middle-ground for both Bats and Supes.

Let's hope the voice work isn't as flat in the sequel as it was in this one. Bit of a disappointment.

Talk about cool lines from this movie. Batman(Bring the heat) and Captain Marvel(You've always had a problem with magic Superman and magic is what I'm all about)POW! I absolutely loved it.

The robot was in the book. The ending was different cause the book had someone else piloting the robot, but the actual robot was out of the book. So those of u saying "I liked it until the giant robot, they lost me there" they were just being true to the source material. Somehing we all want more of.

I, for one, loved this movie. There is a great interview with Bruce Timm, Andrea Romano, Kevin Conroy, and one of the other producers (can't remember his name) on the second disc of the two-disc version where they're all just sitting down to dinner together. Great insight into the mind of Conroy and how he plays Batman.

Yeah, well, I didn't really like the first movie. Maybe it was a faithful adaptation of the comic, but then I maybe wouldn't like the comic either. Too much action, too little story. Didn't like the animation, and even the stellar voice cast seemed somewhat uninspired.
And yes, the pretty much finally lost me when they saved the earth with a giant Bats/Supes Power Rangers style robot spaceship some horny boy genius built for fun.

But the action WAS nice (just too much for the very short runtime), and they had a great cast, so yes, please, they have my permission to try again. ;)
