REPORT: THOR: THE DARK WORLD Filming At Butler's Wharf

No actors present, but you can still find out details on what is sure to be an exciting moment in the movie. Check out a 2nd unit filming report of a scene involving Thor's hammer Mjolnir, as shooting commences at Butler's Wharf near Tower Bridge in London.

Before I start let me say that this was a 2nd unit filming crew so no cast members were present - only extras. The shot being filmed was part of a sequence where Thor's hammer Mjolnir flies along the banks of the Thames towards Tower Bridge. A bike cam was used to film Mjolnir's point of view as it flies past pedestrians along side Browns Restaurant and the Design Centre on its way to Tower Bridge. The pedestrians react with surprise as it flies past. A separate camera was also set up outside the Design Centre. The rain had delayed filming until 2.00pm. The whole crew had been here since 6.00am to set up a shot that will only last 10 seconds on film!

Holy Shit!!! This just sounds too epic... Such a smooth transition from a LOTR type epic, to a modern day Midgard scene.

Wow, nice catch. That scene will be epic. With all this earth footage though, hope they spend only at the most 15% of the movie on earth, the rest must be in the other realms.

Maybe this an opening title sequence, Mjolnir flying around Earth. Either way, I'm liking all the set photos I've been seeing from the movie.

I'm such an idiot I was supposed to be working on a film set today but couldn't for very small and stupid reason, if i knew it was for this I would have told my gf to sort her sh!t out herself -_-.

@AlibiBreakfast - The way I see it, if they dont mention a timeline in the film they could get away with why the other Avengers aren't in it, because all of them are spread all over the world at the moment.

Maybe mjolnir and thor disagree and mjolnir decides to go see the world for him(her)self.

Or maybe, just maybe; like Acura's product placement/promotion through the MCU... What if Apple products are now incorporated into the MCU and is used by SHIELD; with Thor now acting as a poster boy for Apple, maybe he's kicking back resting his legs on some room service at the Hilton, while he lets Mjolnir sort out their maps issue.
