THE SUICIDE SQUAD Star Idris Elba Teases Possible Heimdall Return...Will We See Him In THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER?

Heimdall's story seemingly reached its end in Avengers: Infinity War, but Idris Elba has teased the possibility of returning to the role during an interview to hype up The Suicide Squad. Check it out!

Idris Elba is one of the most talented actors working today, and that makes it even harder to understand why Marvel Studios never really made full use of him as Heimdall. It wasn't really until Thor: Ragnarok that he was given a meaty role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and that was followed by his blink-and-you'd-miss-it death at the hands of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War

There have been rumblings for a while that the Asgardian might return in Thor: Love and Thunder after Elba was spotted in Australia alongside Taika Waititi and his co-stars, but has that now been confirmed?

When ComicBook.com caught up with the actor to discuss his role as Bloodsport in The Suicide Squad, they quizzed him on whether he's now a "DC-exclusive actor" after Heimdall "seemingly perished in the MCU." It was then that the one-time favourite to play James Bond shared a cryptic response.

"I think that I'm excited about the possibilities in the DC world," Elba started. "And I think the word of choice to make note of is the word 'seemingly.'"

It's certainly possible that Heimdall managed to survive that attack, and we can only hope that Waititi has something decent planned for the character in this fourth Thor movie. The sheer power of the Asgardian has never fully been explored in the MCU, though it's worth noting that the introduction of the Multiverse could also open the door to us seeing more of him.

We'll let you know if Elba shares any further details about his possible return as Heimdall.

Well if he also survives then literally every death in Infinity War has been reversed in some twisted way. Lame. But par for the course with Marvel. Nobody ever dies.

@globaltravels - That's not accurate. Loki died and the one from the show is a variant from other universe. Same thing happens with Gamora. The characters we knew are definetely dead. Also, there were lots of asgardians dead on the ship at the biggining of Infinity War that we don't expect to come back.

@Turogalh - And Vision isn't exactyly the same individual (yet).

@Turogalh - poor Vision has died like 3 times

@Turogalh - The key term was “in some way”. It doesn’t matter if it’s a “different Loki”; the point is that Loki died and they brought him back in some way. Same with Gamora.

Those asgardians mean nothing. They were nameless background characters

@globaltravels - Well, many fans don't want these people to die permanently.

@globaltravels - aaaaaaand this is why i wanted no part of multiverse shenanigans. Eventually nothing matters because “oh, we’ll just grab a new version from another timeline!”

He did a good job with what he was given. I wouldn’t be opposed to seeing him come back.

''followed by his blink-and-you'd-miss-it death at the hands of Thanos''

I know I'm a slow blinker, but even that I didn't miss.

Also, I keep forgetting Elba was Heimdall. Don't remember a thing Heimdall actually did across all his appearances. And even Elba in the role didn't make up for it.

Don't really need him back but whatever, they bring him back so Gorr can kill him.

Does anyone really care if he comes back or not. His character was expendable!!

Great actor, but I hope they give him something actually badass to do.

I think Heimdall should be back especially if we are getting multiversal Thor’s then other variant Asgardians should be around as well.

Marvel wasted him. I wouldn't blame if you chose not to come back at all.
