Ray Stevenson & Zachary Levi Still Waiting On Marvel's Call For THOR: RAGNAROK

Even though it's been confirmed that Thor Odinson (Chris Hemsworth) will be teaming up with a jade giant from Earth (Mark Ruffalo), it seems a couple of his fellow Asgardians, Volstagg (Ray Stevenson) and Fandral (Zachary levi), are still waiting to find out if they will return.

It is highly unlikely that Chris Hemsworth’s God of Thunder will take on the Norse apocalypse in Thor: Ragnarok without his Asgardian comrades by his side. However, despite Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk being confirmed to join the series’ third installment, actors Ray Stevenson and Zachary Levi, who play Volstagg the Voluminous and Fandral the Dashing, respectively, haven't received Marvel’s call.

“I’ve heard that it’s on the cards,” Stevenson told IGN about Thor: Ragnarok. “As far as Volstagg is concerned, should he be called with his other Warriors Three to protect young Thor again, within a heart’s beat he will be there. So, I am waiting to hear.” Despite not hearing from Marvel, Ray Stevenson says, “I’m very excited about the whole thing actually.” When asked about the Marvel threequel’s subtitle which suggests some dark things on the horizon for all of the Nine Realms, Stevenson had joked that “We just got rid of some big and dark things,” referring to the 2013 events of Thor: The Dark World. “It’s like ‘Are there really more big and dark things?’ Come on, bigger and darker, bring it to us! But it’s great, it’s like Vikings in space; it’s fantastic and I love it!”

“No, not at all,” says Zackary Levi when Comic Book Resources asked if Marvel has asked him to return as Fandral in Thor: Ragnarok. “As far as I know, they are still writing the script. Once that’s all buttoned down, I’m sure they will be making the phone call to whatever actors are involved. I hope I’m involved. I’d love to reprise Fandral. That was a fun experience, getting to be blonde, Asgardian and sounding British.” Regardless, Levi is excited about the recently-announced filming location. “I think shooting in Australia would be a hoot. The weather is certainly more conducive to happiness than when we were shooting in London, which is a great city, but pretty dreary.”

Like all stars of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, both Ray Stevenson and Zachary Levi obviously have multi-picture deals for their Asgardian roles, so don’t be surprised when it's announced that they will return forThor: Ragnarok. Anyhow, pre-production is scheduled to start in Queensland, Australia, in January 2016 with principal photography set to commence in June. What do you think?

Starring Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Jaimie Alexander, Ray Stevenson, Anthony Hopkins, and Mark Ruffalo, Thor: Ragnarok is currently being scripted by Christopher Yost and Craig Kyle with Taika Waititi set to direct, and the movie scheduled to release in theaters on November 3, 2017.

@Th0rOdinson

Elba never said such things. You're probably referring to him having to shoot scenes for Age of Ultron right after wrapping up production with his Nelson Mandela film. He was just tired.

Hopkins definitely phoned in for Thor: The Dark World though.

Sorry, Fandral and Volstagg. You've been replaced by Banner, Darcy, Jane, Ian, and naked Selvig.

Back to topic: They'll be in this film. I hope (believe) that this film will be less Midgard-Centric and will focus on the other realms or, at least, Asgard.

Must have the Warriors Three
Must have Sif
Must, of course, have Loki
All other humans, with the exception of Hulk, are optional

I feel bad for whoever plays Hogun. They literally wrote him out in the first few minutes of the movie. So much for representation.

I was waiting for someone to correct that Idris Elba quote. It's amazing how many people will omit parts of commentary to help make their "argument". And I see that we have the same bullshit argument about this being a Hulk movie as we did about the Superman/Batman film being more Batman than Superman. I'd be upset, if I didn't know that half of these mother[frick]ers will be there opening night for BOTH films (despite their protestations to the contrary).

@GrilledPopcorn He is still on Once Upon a Time, which is what kept him out of the Dark World.

Jane I don't mind as long as her role only lasts as long as Peppers in Avengers at most. Selvig has a weird warm spot in my heart he's like Thors personal Coulson, I wouldn't mind him but I wouldn't be upset if he wasn't in Ragnarok either. Darcy and Ian though need to die, just die like literally kill those characters off and then forget about them, in fact make their deaths a joke scene in Ragnarok.

I want this to be Thors Winter Soldier, I know Feige has said they don't want to go dark but damn, Thor doesn't work like guardians or Joss Whedon writing, Thor needs to be taken a bit more seriously. And made quite a bit darker, especially if this is gonna have Thanos in it. Also how are they gonna make Thor and Hulk fight in this? No one is gonna buy mind control again!
Fandral and Vostagg better be in this, I can see Thanos killing them off.

Also if Darcy or even Jane manages to slap Thanos (I don't care if he doesn't flinch and he smiles) I will quit the MCU if he doesn't immediately kill them after.

So we got Hulk which nobody asked for in Thor 3 in a story Hulk wasn't in but we wouldn't have some of Thor's supporting cast.....

This is why I don't like Hulk in Thor 3. You're just inserting Hulk to insert him. It's like Spidey in Civil War or Aquaman in Batman V Superman. These guys don't matter but you inserted them simiply because you can.

Still hate how I have to see one of these shitty Thor films to see Hulk. Thor's series has been the worse solo series of the modern superhero film series.

As long as Sif is given a bigger part than I am cool. Seriously Marvel needs to wise up and realize Sif can be a huge fan favorite if given a legitimate role, much like Widow did in Winter Soldier.

Marvel are dumb for promoting shit like Jane Foster rather than Sif, even Darcy had a bigger role which was criminal.

"Ray Stevenson & Zachary Levi Still Waiting On Marvel's Call For THOR: RAGNAROK"

keep waiting. nobody likes these chumps. except loki, thor probably has the worst supporting cast in the MCU. in fact, thor himself is a terrible character. no wonder they needed to put hulk in the next film.

@Raiden @dinoSlider The filming location's in Australia so hopefully it's during OuaT's months off. I really didn't like Levi's creepy Fandral. Josh's Fandral was more charming.
