When a young reporter named Tin Tin finds a mysterious model ship, he is thrust into an adventure full of intrigue and excitement. Steven Spielberg's The Adventures of Tin Tin is a visually stunning motion capture film and is one of the director's best (recently). After the disappointing War of the Worlds, and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Spielberg finally delivers a fun, visually stunning film for the whole family. Peter Jackson produced this feature and used his Weta Digital to create the computer animation. The voice cast is great, however Andy Serkis steals the show as Haddock. It was cool to see Daniel Craig as the villain.

The story is decent but the visuals are so awesome that you tend to forgive the script's shortcomings. My favorite scene is when Tintin escapes from a Middle Eastern town on his motorbike. There are a couple of references to the Indiana Jones series. For example. when Tintin's plane crashes, his head lands next to the propeller (Raiders - villain's death). At times, The Adventures of Tintin reminded me of an animated Indiana Jones film. It was definitely better than the last Indy movie.

I give The Adventures of Tintin 4 out of 5 stars.

good review. I was wondering if I should rent this for the family; now I will. I was skeptical as I am not a fan of the some other motion capture films like The Christmas Carol or Polar Express.

And I did not find War of the Worlds to be disappointing.
