the eyes look damn near life like...not sure if they were that detailed in the first movie.

I see everyone is getting Fraked up in this one.

Yeah I like all the detail they added to the all of the transformers in the first movie and the eyes are just a prime example of it. Glad to see they did not go cheap on cgi.

I will say that the faces are my least favorite part of the new robots.

As stated, I think they could have did a better job making them at least feel like the classics.

Starscream is one of my favorite cartoon character, but I just haven't brought into the movie version.

In F22 form, yes...but in robot form...not yet.
I hope that changes with this one.

I also hope Soundwave have the essence of the originals monotone/emotionless self.

Actually, the new face is way better than the original toy's face in 84. It was a plate face behind a windshield. The toys for both Ironhide and Ratchet were really miles away from the familiar old cartoons and comics drawings and the toy pictured.

lol is anyone else tired of people complaining about continuity with the cartoon. it was a god damn 80's cartoon, its like if they based dark knight off of the adam west series. it needed to be modernized because if the faces were malleable metal, it would look effing stupid. if you don't like this movie because it is too different from the original, then you are just being injudicious.

I DUNNO, I DIDNT SEE ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE FACES IN THE ORIGINAL, OR AT LEAST THE WHOLE LINE OF TRANSFORMERS, IF IT AINT BROKE DONT FIX IT, GENERATIONS OF FANS SO USE TO THE LOOK, YOU REMOVE SOME THINGS AND IT PUTS YOU OFF A BIT.APART FROM ALL THE OTHER CHANGES BAY HAS DONE IN THE MOVIES, I LOVE IT, THE GUY HAS AN AWSOME EYE.BUT TRUTHFULLY, ID RATHER SEE THE FACES LIKE IN THE CARTOONS, YEAH NOT EXACTLLY LIKE THEM BUT YOU KNOW, MAKE IT WORK.HECK SUPERMAN RETURNS,WHEN THE SUIT WAS OUT AND I SAW ALL THE THINGS ABOUT IT THAT WAS CHANGED, I DIDNT SAY WAY TOO MUCH BUT IT WAS MORE OF AN INTERNAL PTURBNESS...I LIKE CHANGES, YOU NEED THEM.BUT LISTEN TO FAN REACTIONS,AND MAKE CHANGES TO PLEASE THEM.THATS ALL IM SAYING..

I can understand why they decided to change the Transformer faces for the film and I think that it was a very logical move on behalf of Bay and his team. The transformer faces were originally designed in a manner to mimic the Greek's Obsession with perfect facial symmetry. If you look closely at the G1 transformer faces their is an angelic quality about them.
Now in all realness if the transformers would have been depicted with the same angelic faces as in the cartoon or toys they would not have had a very realistic feel to them in the movies.Let us remember that we can relate to them because of their humanoid nature but they are nowhere near human except in their actions and thoughts everything else is alien.

We are autonomous robotic organisms from the planet Cybertron.......not earth Duhh!
