PREDICTION: Transformers ROTF to Take in 160M First Weekend

If that pans out to be true then Transformers ROTF hands down will win the Summer Blockbuster War, easily.

Nikki Fink's Deadline Hollywood is making the predictions...

"Paramount is gonna call me screaming any moment. But rival studios are telling me they expect Transformers 2: Revenge Of The Fallen to open with a high of $175M for its 5-day opening from Wednesday, June 24 to Sunday, June 28. Because the sequel came onto tracking HUGE today. Paramount will try to lower expectations. But here's what can't be argued: Spider-Man 2 opened on Wednesday, June 30, 2004, and did $152 million for its first 5 days. So Transformers 2 feels like at least it should be in the $160+M range."

I find it interesting that the other movie used as a comparison is a comic book property. This movie should make more money then a home equity loan makes banks. Sound off below and let us know if you think Transformers ROTF will rake in the dough as the Heavy Hitter of the summer.

I don't doubt it will be big. This is one of the few flicks I am really looking forward to seeing. I say $175 isn't too much and I wish them luck on doing it.

It's clearly going to bring in a ton of cash. Will it be any good? Going from the 1st and what I've seen of this so far I'd say yes. But going by the director I'd say no. Bay is a moron who had made 1 or 2 decent films until Transformers came along. Even then those "decent" films were only good for a "Just got in from A Saturday night out with a take away and a few mates half asleep" kind of time. Don't get me wrong, Transformers was great but it could have easily been a fluke in Bays otherwise lame and cheesy (thats the bad kind of cheesy) CV.

PROVE ME WRONG BAY, I BEG YOU! MAKE ANOTHER GOOD MOVIE!

The first one opened with $70 million on the 4th of July holiday an zero competition. The only thing that's changed this time is that it's not on a holiday. I really don't see it making $170 million but it will probably break $150 million.

I believe that since Wolverine, Terminator, Star Trek, plus others are already over its just smooth sailing for the new Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen movie. This movie is gonna be Epically Awesome, i cant wait for this movie, I've been waiting ever since they announced it after the first film!
