Those darn action figure makers are always spoiling characters in movies, and they are at it again! Oh well. Some of us aren't into surprises, and besides, what's a blockbuster summer movie without a lot of merchandise to sell?

Well, the Fallen doesn't look anything like the first toy that surfaced. This one actually looks cool. Devastator, if that is the actual thing, looks sick!!!

I don't think this spoills the movie. I'm as excited about it as I was when I knew they were making the movie.

These are concept drawings, don't be fooled. Whether they are actually made or designed is another story.

To paraphrase myself from an eralier thread:

"They should have simplified the designs a little, and made the robots more relatable. I could hardly bear staring at Optimus Prime's "lips" for more than a few moments without flinching in disgust, they gave us "Soundwave the Boombox/Cellphone" that looked like some kind of freak, swiss army knife, and now this?!"

I really am not a fan of the overstylized, overcomplicated design that they decided to use for the characters. Wouldn't it have been just as effective, and probably a lot easier, to just simplify the designs a little?! It would also have pleased some of the fan base, and made the characters more realistic/relatable.

Just my opinion.

I sorta agree with you adamant877. I mean I understand why the went the route they did when they redesigned Transformers, but during the fight scenes is what bothered me, I could barely tell the difference between robots when they got close, even some slow motion shots I couldn't make much out. I hope they tweak that more this go around.

I agree Stumblin.
Another one of my concerns is... What's with all of the spikes and sharp edges?!
You look at the boombox in some scenes, and you feel like your looking at a godd@mn metallic porcupine!
And with the pictures of the Fallen, I feel like I've been transported from the Transformers movie, and now I'm watching the live action version of... Bionicle?!

It's too distracting. When you add so much detail to the facial structure (of what essentially is supposed to be a robot), it takes away from your ability to relate to the character realistically.

(Those are the moments when you're watching a movie, and you suddenly realize you're not watching the movie anymore, you're picking apart scenes, looking around, and wondering what you should have spent your $8-$10 on.)

*HINT: It's probably the reason that the original animators made a great majority of the characters designed with facial plates.

Devastator is gonna rip apart the screen. I personlly think the movie transformers could not have been done any other way. If they were blocky they would look childish and stupid.

Well, this version of The Fallen, looks MUCH better than that green version we saw in the other article. HOWEVER, it's still not "The Fallen" Although it does have a very distinct ancient look to it, I have to agree with Adamant; it is very Bionicle looking. Which, isn't so cool.

Face plates, yes. Robot lips, NO! That's just a bit on the retarded side.

I still think this movie is going to be great, loved the first one and can't wait to see what they do with this one. I had no problem discerning between the robots during the fight scenes. I knew who was who, what was going on and who was getting their ass handed to them.

So, are they going to turn Bumblebee into Goldbug for this one? They did have to rebuild him, so why wouldn't they?

On another note. THE NEXT FAN ART CONTEST IS UNDERWAY! CHECK THE FEATURES TAB ON THE HOME PAGE (FOR NOW) AND LINK TO THE "MY GL CREATION" FAN ART CONTEST! WOOT! I HOPE TO SEE AT LEAST HALF AS MANY ENTRIES IN THIS AS THERE WERE WITH THE HULK VS CONTEST. GOOD LUCK!

adamant and stumblin, they didnt use the simpler designs cuz one reason, its f@@#ing michael bay, the guy who loves explosions and complicated, articulate things!!!! o and also to clear things up, supposedly, the one wheeled robot in the trailer is only a part of Devestator that u see in this picture!! thats sick

first of all Devastator looks RAW AS HELL! Hes even better than i imagined, and i can't wait to see him in the movie. i heard soundwave is going to be in it to.The Fallen looks raw too but i expected him to be more bulky looking, not that im complaining.(MY SOURCES ABOUT SOUNDWAVE IN THE MOVIE WAS WIKIPEDIA, ALSO REVEALS OTHER CHARICTERS THAT ARE IN IT TOO)

Adamant - When I did my post there were only two pictures here...now they've added the Fallen toy pictures. Looks pretty cool. The Devastator one I'm not buying. Looks cool and all, but it won't be in the movie...too conceptual. Besides, the components are wayyyy too much like the cartoon...Bay won't stand for that. lol

Logan- from earlier sources the constructacons do not make up Devastator in ROTF. But obviously that pic sure seems to prove them wrong.

ya redrum, u got it the opposite way,the constructicons make up devestator, it was said in an interview and that the one wheeled robot is actually part of devestator.

well, they look like all the other transformers from the movies, sleek, redesigned, too cool for their own good. None of those are complements. I am a huge fan of the first movie, I'll be a fan of this one most likely, I just can't get used to what hollywood feels they have to do to be relevant.

The fallen looks like a preying mantis with body armor on. But cool regardless. Idk if u guys didnt notice, probably did, but in the ROTF trailer, u can see what looks like optimus jumping on the one wheeled constructicon. youll see how small he looks. That means Devastator will be massive, like a damn skyscraper, thats UNREALL!!
