ARROW: New Hi-Res Stills From "Burned" Featuring First Look At Firefly

"Burned", the first Arrow of 2013, sees Oliver Queen go up against Firefly (Andrew Dunbar) - a firefighter who was burned badly on the job and has immense rage because of it. The CW has released the first promo shots for the episode..

Oliver’s (Stephen Amell) confidence is shaken after being beaten by the Dark Archer (John Barrowman), resulting in him taking a break from being Arrow. However, when Laurel (Katie Cassidy) calls Arrow for help investigating a firefighter’s suspicious death, he reluctantly agrees but his hesitance while fighting almost costs him his life. Meanwhile, Tommy (Colin Donnell) throws a benefit for the firefighters and Thea (Willa Holland) tries to lift Moira (Susanna Thompson) out of her depressive state.

Arrow returns January 16th.

First we get Catwoman Huntress no it's Two-Face Firefly. I guarantee we'll have a Bane type debut very soon.

I hope those cannisters on his back are at least a jetpack, or else there's not much point in calling the guy firefly. If not he's a poor man's Two-Face

So I guess he somehow is set on fire and dies? The one picture pretty much gives away the ending of the episode...

Yeah, well what did you expect..that Queen would take him alive? HA!

Haha, I guess not! It's funny that he was all indignant about Huntress killing people, yet he does it pretty much every episode. He needs to start carrying boxing glove arrows so he doesn't kill so many bad guys...

this green arrow is a douchebag all he does is just kill, kill, kill. he is just as bad as the bad guys

If Green Arrow wasn't such a lame character, I would watch this show. I could barely handle him in Smallville. I only ever liked a handful of the comics.

The show is actually good. It's not a masterpiece but it's good. Well, it's the copy of Batman Begins (notice!), but it's good.

Idk...i get the Two-Face comparisons but I still think he looks cool. I mean this is LIGHTYEARS beyond that crappy Smallville show. At least in this show they don't cheapen the looks.

@deanwilkins- So you're avoiding this show because you feel Green Arrow is a lame character and because you didn't like him in Smallville?

Kind of lame reasons to avoid the show, no offense. Well, this Green Arrow is much tougher and darker than the GA of the comics and this show has no connection whatsoever with Smallville.

I would understand you avoiding this show if you saw a few episodes and didn't like them. But your reasons just aren't very good to avoid the show.

btw- Deathstroke was a masterpiece in this show so far. Expert fighting capabilities, his look is nearly dead-on to the comics. This show isn't going the cheap route. I give them props for that.

@RorMachine

An unfortunate trend on this show.

Batman - Green Arrow
Rachel Dawes - 'Laurel' Lance
Catwoman - Huntress
Firefly - Two Face (I bet Firefly will have some tragic back story)
Now, as for Bane, I wouldn't be surprised if Deathstroke becomes their Bane once he appears with an actual actor.

At least it's not as bad as borrowing whole scenes and situations-oh, wait, never mind.

Despite some of the flaws in it, I still enjoy the show though but it's not one of the best around.

The show absolutely rips off Batman (mostly Nolan). There are even scenes and situations ripped directly from the Nolan films.

You are just clueless to think that this type of format is something Nolan came up with. Watch more and read more, or you will look like another low imagination Nolanite who doesn't grasp there was good superhero translations way before him.

@Nivekian

You tell me to watch and read more and that I can't grasp that there were good superhero translations way before him (X Men 2 being my favourite before his films, personally) yet you are ignoring what I said in my post. I am not talking about the tone or the more grounded world or being good (I don't think the show's fantastic, just very good). I'm talking about lines and scenes ripped right out of the Nolan films.

Yeah Ive heard quotes being copied from Nolans Batman movies, and some characters' look.

However, its a show about vigilantes, theres only so much you can do about a crime fighter that fights psychos, Green Arrow and Batman are extremely similar characters. This show has the potential to be very cheesy and extremely cliche, with all the love triangles, flashbacks and bullets flying around. Yet it still manages to deliver quality episodes that surprise and keep the show on a suspenseful and fun note.

I love Nolan's work, but even he based his movies off of someone else's. That's simply how all art works: inspiration. Similarities are unavoidable in a show like this one.

I say kudos to them, I hope this show continues to succeed.

Actually in the comics Firefly does have major burn mark all over his body,I believe once when he was a pyro maniac child and the other in a fight against Batman.

That looks good, but I was expecting more with Firefly's outfit.

I mean, with the grounded approach to Arrow, I'm not surprised he doesn't have his winged suit like in the comics. He should be wearing a helmet though.

wow they gave him the dumbest explanation as to why he kills. a firefighter who is mad he was burnt on the job so he kills and burns others? my dads been a firefighter for over 25 years and has been burnt plenty of times but has never killed anyone...that i know of.

I'm enjoying Arrow, well done and entertaining. There are going to be some similarities and comparisons to Batman, but as someone else said that's to be expected as they have similar backgrounds and are the same type of hero. If we had a Daredevil or Nightwing show the same things would be said.
