Courtesy of THR, here are a few easter eggs and spoilers to keep an eye out for while watching Arrow.

- Dinah Lance works for a legal aid group called CNRI ('Canary')

- The Deathstroke mask implies that Oliver was not alone on that island for five years. Someone was there teaching him, directly or indirectly, how to become a survivor and skilled fighter.

-Tommy Merlyn has an evil streak that includes drugging girls at nightclubs.

-Oliver's sister 'Thea' will be a drug addict which coincides with a similar characteristic of the comic book version of Speedy.

-Several of the names on the list Oliver's father gives to him have deep roots in the Green Arrow mythos:
-Albert Davis | a multimillionaire who married for love, and had children only to lose them when they are kidnapped and killed. Davis snaps and turns to the occult in an effort to 'protect' Star City. He notably enlists The Riddler in his misguided intentions.

-Danny "Brick" Brickwell | first appeared in Green Arrow vol.3, #40. He was created by Judd Winick and Phil Hester. A metahuman with a reddish, stony skin that grants him invulnerability and super-strength. His success as an underworld kingpin is due to his brilliant criminal mind rather than his superhuman powers.

-Hannibal Bates | better known in the pages of DC Comics as Everyman, Bates gained the ability to shapeshift through a scientific metahuan initiative spearheaded by Lex Luthor.

-David Drayson | goes by the alias Slingshot in DC Comics. He's described as a psychotic cop-killer and one of Green Arrow's most dangerous opponents.

-Lester Buchinsky | First appeared in Detective Comics #644, (May 1992), and was created by Chuck Dixon, Tom Lyle and Scott Hanna. Better known as Electrocutioner, he's a criminal that relies on a costume that releases a lethal electronic shock and is frequently in the employ of Blüdhaven crime boss Blockbuster.

- In the pilot, Arrow relies primarily on traditional arrows but will also use a few 'trick arrows.'

I can't help but just think CW is just trying to get a piece of the Bow and Arrow Fad going on with Hunger Games, Avengers, etc.

Yeah... @TheGambitFreak... that makes sense.

I'm sure the big-wigs at CW were sitting around and one of them said, "Wow... have you all noticed the Bow and Arrow Fad going on? It's really something, huh? Ya know, we should totally cash in on that! I wish we had a character who used one so that we could totally ride him to the 'bank', while this fad is so stinkin' hot! Oh wait... we do! Green Arrow! This is so awesome! Who cares if we were the original ones with our Smallville character, we'll cash in big time now!"

This show will be better than people are supposing. The writers of the show are writers of comics. That makes a BIG difference, and will help us fan-boys to get a weekly fix. Hopefully it won't be a weak-ly fix.

Stop with the cry baby comments..wait & watch it before you comment that it sucks.
It might surprise you..or suck hard..just watch it first.

Do remember it's a CW tv show, not HBO..it's not going to have that pedigree.
No tv show or movie has completey delivered the exact experience of the comics so quit thinking they will.

Live action properties are like Elseworlds (DC) or What If? (MARVEL)..those comics show a different take on familiar characters and they are still enjoyable.

@sameoldthing

We already know a fair amount about their approach. And quite a few specific details. Not to mention and endless stream of trailers and clips to have a pretty good idea of what they;re going for. And it's dogshit.

We don't need much to know Bay's TMNT would suck dirty cocks. We have more than enough for this.

This will be a completely shit show. I don't expect it to get particularly popular like Smallville either because it doesn't have the tweeny aspect to attract teenage girls.

I'm seeing some parallels with Marvel Comics.

Danny Brickwell sounds like The Kingpin. David Drayson (Slingshot) sounds like Bullseye.

It doesn't bother me. But I hope we're not getting a poor man's Marvel Comics here.
