The CW president Mark Pedowitz announced today during the Television Critics Association Press Tour that the network had given early renewals to ten of its primetime series for the upcoming 2019-2020 season, including all five of its DC comics-based superhero shows.

Arrow will return this Fall for Season 8, The Flash for Season 6, Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow for Season 5, and Black Lightning for Season 3. These shows will likely be joined by Batwoman for the 2019-2020 season, which recently received a pilot order, bringing the total number of DC shows on the network to six.

These renewals for the four Arrowverse series are not entirely unexpected considering that the follow-up to last year's "Elseworlds" crossover has been revealed to be "Crisis on Infinite Earths." Taking into account how monumental and impactful of a story Crisis is, we can expect that The CW will utilize all four Arrowverse series and potentially Batwoman to fully adapt this crossover.

In addition to their DC slate, the CW also renewed the following shows: Supernatural (Season 15), Riverdale (Season 4), Dynasty (Season 3), Charmed (Season 2), and Legacies (Season 2).

Mark Pedowitz had the following to say about these early renewals:

This season, we expanded our primetime schedule to six nights with the addition of Sunday — which has been an unqualified success for the network, our affiliates and our advertisers. In addition to growing our schedule across the week, we also continue to add more year-round programming. The early renewal of these signature CW series gives us a head start on laying out the 2019-2020 season, and this is just the beginning. These shows provide a strong foundation for our multiplatform programming strategy, and we look forward to building on this with even more returning and new shows as we approach the May upfront.

Pedowitz also revealed that this May, the network will determine how many episodes each of their six DC superhero series will contain and on which nights they will air, seemingly hinting that Batwoman will indeed be picked up.

@comicfan100 - Really to get the full scope of Crisis On Infinite Earths they really need Black Lightning in on the action, plus this probably wont happen, but it should be a two week event, with each show getting two episodes

That'd be a great way to bring BL into the Arrowverse. Have COIE merge BL's earth with earth one.
