SPARTACUS Alum Tapped To Play Amanda Waller In ARROW

"The Wall" has been cast in the upcoming second season of the CW's Arrow and its another former Spartacus alum. But this won't be the classic comic version of the character.

According to TVGuide.com, actress Cynthia Addai-Robinson, another Spartacus alum, has been cast in the DC Comics Villain role as Amanda Waller. Robinson who played Crixus' lover, Naevia, will join her former co-star Manu Bennett, who currently plays Slade Wilson aka Deathstroke on the show. Manu Bennett was recently upgraded to series regular for season 2.

The role of Amanda Waller was previously filled by Pam Grier in Smallville, Angela Bassett in Green Lantern and CCH Pounder in the animated Justice League series.

Personally, she's just another pretty face and looks kinda young to play "The Wall" in my opinion. I was hoping for someone a tad bit older and more intimidating. I guess they're basing her on the new 52 version of the character from the comics which I guess makes sense for a show on the CW.

I thought Smallville's choice was pretty great. I was hoping for a heavy set black woman, but oh well. This is the CW afterall

Well guess what? Are you the guys paid millions to film movies and make these casting decisions? No? So just leave it to the professionals.
During a surgery or whatnot, you're not gonna tell the doctor "you're doing it wrong." Just STFU and leave it to the professionals. That's what they're paid for.

She is lovely but it's sad that a "big" lady cannot be given a role/job that shes a perfect for.
Amanda Waller should be depicted like the original & allow women of all sizes to be seen on TV.

Having said that,this new addition to Arrow is another reason I will watch with my pants off.
So many sexy ladies to see...I will close my eyes when shirtless Amell is on. Ha!

I think anyone of sub-model hotness immediately disintegrates when they step through the door to CW casting calls. Even the extras on CW shows look like they got lost on the way to the catwalk.

on that photo, she looks pretty badass..how come they don't just RECAST Storm with a younger (and better) actress. i luv Halle..but, after 3 movies, it's enough to see and accept that she just don't FIT the character.

Amanda Waller isn't called "the Wall" simply because she's fat.
It has everything to do with her hard ass personality as well as being an abbreviation of her last name. And we know that she didn't start out fat. The murder of her family is what led to her letting herself go.

So yeah, while a diversity of looks would be appreciated, she's still a hard-ass bitch that nobody likes and all the villains are trying to kill.

When she came onto spartacus, that became the most annoying part of the entire series... I'm not excited about this. She's hot, but SO F*CKING ANNOYING!

Not a good choice. All the previous choices have been good but this is not right. Pam Grier on Smallville and Angela Basett in GL were perfect, and CCH Pounder voicing her animated version was amazing. SHeryl LEe Ralph did a decent job on Young Justice. Should've gotten someone like Gina Torres.

@dedpool CCH Pounder would be awesome. She voiced the character in the JL animated series and she does TV after all. Now that Warehouse 13 is ending, I'm sure she's available.
