Black Lightning continues to dominate and after another action-packed episode that saw Jefferson Pierce (Cress Williams) and Peter Gambi (James Remar) sort of make amends, next week's hour will see the duo continue their efforts to take down the ASA, however, things take a turn for the worst when Jefferson gets arrested.

Fortunately, his superpowered daughter Anissa (Nafessa Williams) there to pick up the slack as she works with Gambi to prove to the world that Black Lightning is not her father (even though he is). Meanwhile, Lynn (Christine Adams) will seek out help from Detective Henderson (Damon Gupton).

Watch the new promo for episode ten, titled "Black Jesus: The Book of Crucifixion," below:

"Black Jesus: The Book of Crucifixion" - (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET) (TV-14, DLV) (HDTV)

AND JUSTICE FOR ALL - As suspicions grow that Jefferson Pierce (Cress Williams) is Black Lightning, the ASA arranges to have him arrested. Lynn (Christine Adams) seeks help from Detective Henderson (Damon Gupton). Meanwhile, as Jefferson is in custody, Gambi (James Remar) and Anissa (Nafessa Williams) work together to show Black Lightning is still running around the streets of Freeland. China Anne McClain and Marvin Jones III also star. The episode was written by Melora Rivera and directed by Michael Schultz (#111). Original airdate 4/3/2018.

Jefferson Pierce (Cress Williams) is a man wrestling with a secret. As the father of two daughters and principal of a charter high school that also serves as a safe haven for young people in a New Orleans neighborhood overrun by gang violence, he is a hero to his community. Nine years ago, Pierce was a hero of a different sort. Gifted with the superhuman power to harness and control electricity, he used those powers to keep his hometown streets safe as the masked vigilante Black Lightning. However, after too many nights with his life on the line, and seeing the effects of the damage and loss that his alter ego was inflicting on his family, he left his Super Hero days behind and settled into being a principal and a dad. Choosing to help his city without using his superpowers, he watched his daughters Anissa (Nafessa Williams) and Jennifer (China Anne McClain) grow into strong young women, even though his marriage to their mother, Lynn (Christine Adams), suffered. Almost a decade later, Pierce’s crime-fighting days are long behind him…or so he thought. But with crime and corruption spreading like wildfire, and those he cares about in the crosshairs of the menacing local gang The One Hundred, Black Lightning returns — to save not only his family, but also the soul of his community.

Black Lightning features:
Cress Williams as Jefferson Pierce/Black Lightning
China Anne McClain as Jennifer Pierce
Nafessa Williams as Anissa Pierce
Christine Adams as Lynn Pierce
James Remar as Peter Gambi
Damon Gupton as Henderson

I am so pleasantly surprise this show is so good. I see a breakout second season for this show kinda like how Arrow broke out its second season. The Akils are great showrunners and writers. Girlfriends was excellent early on and so was The Game so im kinda not THAT shocked that its smart and well written. They need to hire the Akils to write some episodes of The Flash and Arrow...

I managed to count up to 20 and something bodies stored in those stasis pods at the beginning.

Loved the teamwork between Black Lightning and Thunder.

The part where Lynn joked if Jefferson could see throw her clothes with his lightning vision gave me a vibe of Superman (or well any House of El member) of having x-ray vision. But as he was explaining it's function to Lynn and how it was thanks to Gambi's suit that now he could I thought it was to further drive home the point that he did need to make peaces with him.

Anissa did overstep tonight with the Khalil comment to Jennifer, I remember Khalil being the one that gave up on Jennifer when he started letting Tobias mess with him. I wonder when he will be back too.

So Jefferson is a battery while Jennifer is a generator. Now I can see how Jefferson can always be charged up once they get Jennifer ready as Lightning, he'll never run out of energy as long as she's nearby.

Two-Bits is hilarious and the exchange he had with Black Lightning was very funny. The whole scene was. I really wasn't expecting him to return after the 4th episode.

Gambi is quite the badass for carrying with him 2 guns in broad daylight. Quite smart too to just give Jefferson the signal to mess with the light in the A.S.A. hideout so that he could take down the goons.

Lala isn't only seeing and talking to dead people but he has super strength now to pull off people's ears that refuse to go back to selling normal drugs now that Green Light is few on the streets after the raid form last week. I don't what is his deal but if this keeps up he might actually end up taking the spot in that Shadow Board that Tobias wanted to have originally.

Martin Proctor is a smart one, figured out himself Jefferson is Black Lightning during the whole thing.

Jefferson is gonna have to look for a new vice principal because even if Kara Fowdy comes clean, the A.S.A. won't let any loose ends, just like Gambi is to them.

Bring in those final 3 episodes!

Also that question Jennifer asked her dad about how he goes to the bathroom while wearing the suit is so comic book-ish self-awareness. :P I know it was intentionally done from her end to cheer up the mood but still it felt like that to me.

Echoing the comments about how surprisingly good /decent this show is. I kinda have felt heartbroken how CW has fumbled their series; Flash s1 was magical but lost luster quickly as did LOT.

BL is not perfect but the character arcs aren't as all over as Flash. I think the whole Speed Force/parallel worlds has opened a narrative can of worms for Barry & Co. Also half expecting someone's pet beagle to become a speedster by the end of the season. Since Flash needs MORE speedsters ...
