The Wizard World Comic Con is currently underway in Chicago, and following Arrow's Stephen Amell's comments on Bruce Wayne appearing on The CW's hit DC series, more Batman news has emerged, this time in regards to Fox's hit DC series, Gotham. During the Gotham panel at WWCC, star Ben McKenzie, who plays Jim Gordon on the show, was asked about when fans could expect to see Batman on the show, or if we may get a Smallville type situation, where Clark Kent finally donned the iconic Superman suit at the end of the series. McKenzie had this to say:

"The last frame of the last shot of the last scene of the last episode of Gotham, whatever season that may be, is Bruce putting on that cape".

Just in case it wasn't obvious from that statement, it would seem that Bruce Wayne donning Batman's cape and cowl will be the VERY LAST thing we see on Gotham, which is what many fans had already assumed anyway. However, it is nice to get some official confirmation on the topic. Of course, if Gotham manages to keep ratings high, it is always possible that the show could spin-off into a full-fledged Batman series, though it may be a bit early to begin speculating on that idea, as the show has yet to enter its second season. You can check out the footage of McKenzie discussing the topic, courtesy of comicbook.com, below:

What do you guys think? Would you prefer to see Batman a little bit earlier on the show, or do you think that would ruin the entire idea behind Gotham? Would you like the show to continue on into a Batman series, or do you think Fox should leave it at Gotham? Sound off in the comments below, and be sure to share and hit that thumbs up button! You can catch Gotham's second season when it premieres September 21 on Fox.

When will....What? HE'S 10! Even if it's the end of the show, why would it come any sooner?

@AnthonyLantern

Personally, I am not too sure, I have always assumed it would be the end. I think some fans have speculated an eventual time jump.

Batman's rogue gallery only came to be because Batman put on the cape. His madness spawned madness, so the premise of the show is flawed...leave it to fox to drop the ball.

Should've been 4 or 5 seasons with Wayne appearing in the first and last season...Gordon could've built a friendship with him in the last season. Instead he's a child for the show's duration.

what is going to be a flashfront instead of a flashback? WHY THEY HAVE TO SHOVE THE FREAKING JOKER IN EVERY BATMAN RELATED SHOW. BRUCE WAYNE IS A KID AND STILL HAS A JOKER. WTF!!!!!

@Canon108

Exactly. They also screwed up Jim Gordon's character. Instead of having him just be a good cop in a corrupt city who wants to do right but has to keep his head down to protect his family, he some fckin' action hero who somehow hasn't been killed yet and has a little 'chat' with the leader of the mob boss like every freakin' week.

There's no point in making a TV show starring Jim Gordon's time as a police officer because there shouldn't be any change UNTIL Bruce becomes Batman and trying to pad this out by also showing Bruce's 'early years' as a kid is not an interesting enough subplot. We KNOW he's gonna be Batman so stop beating around the bush and showing us him as a little kid, this is pointless.

And exactly what Canon said, introducing all of Batman's rogues gallery as younger people is also a dumb idea because these lunatics didn't start coming out until AFTER Batman hit the scene. They're connecting every character together in some intricate web and it's unnecessary.

And WTF did they do to Barbara Kean? She's just an average woman in the comics but here she's some blonde bisexual bimbo with some weird past.

Show is garbage. It's hard to make a Gotham based show without Batman...not.

JUST FOCUS ON GORDON, BULLOCK, AND THE GCPD! Gotham should be a cesspool of crime, not a circus. Bruce being Batboy is not good for the show, or the brand, honestly. It took years of training, dedication, and discipline to build Batman. He's not just automatically a superhero after his parents are murdered.
