Jada Pinkett Smith Won't Return As 'Fish Mooney' In Season 2 Of GOTHAM

During her appearance on Live with Kelly & Michael and an in interview with Extra, Jada Pinkett Smith reveals that we will most likely not see her return as Fish Mooney in Season 2 of Gotham. Hit the jump to find out why!

Jada Pinkett Smith appeared on Live with Kelly & Michael, and when she was asked about whether or not she'll appear on Gotham Season 2, she responded, "I don’t think so." She then elaborated and revealed why she thinks her character won't show up for the second season, "I signed for a year and, you know, the year is up." After this, Jada Pinkett Smith then says that "there are some great things coming ahead on 'Gotham,'"

In a separate interview with Extra, she confirms her departure, "We’re done, I did my year and I had a good time,” she then continues, “The show is gonna [have] an awesome finale.” If the text isn't enough for you, check out the video below from Live with Kelly & Michael!

Even though she confirms that she won't appear in Season 2 of Gotham, she hints at a possible return. "You never know what Fish might have up her sleeve." What do you think? Sound off below with your thoughts!

I suggest people continue with this show. Season 1 has been pretty decent and Season 2 will find its footing.

She's the main reason I stopped watching Gotham. She's wayyyy too over the top. Also penguin started really interesting but now he's just an annoyance.

Fish is one of the best characters on the show! WTF! Seriously, Penguin is hardly any fun to watch always being someones bytch, Riddler only gets about 5 mins per show to tell a riddle then be told to shut the hell up in some way, shape or form and the kids (Bruce, Selena and Ivy) are all irrelevant. Gordon, Bullock and Fish make that show. Fish is the only villian who takes her lumps, stands toe to toe with her enemies and laughs while doing it. Falcone and Maroni are a bunch of puss pods.

I think since they're shedding dead weight like Mooney, it should definitely pick in the second season if not in the final episodes before the season finale.

Before her solo arc I already strongly disliked her and considered her the worst character in all the CBTV shows. Since we have to follow her doing shit alone and not even IN Gotham anymore... sorry, but [frick] her. This is good news!

PPenguin was my highlight, but last episode he was a little too much in psycho killer mode. The thing he did with the old couple felt more Joker-ish than anything else.
