KRYPTON Teaser Trailer Provides Our First Official Look At SYFY's SUPERMAN Prequel TV Series

Though we did get a leaked trailer for this a while back, SYFY and Warner Bros. TV have now released the first official teaser for their upcoming Superman prequel TV series, Krypton.

The footage kicks-off with the frequently revisited destruction of the Man of Steel's titular planet, before cutting to shots of some of the principal characters that make up the Zod and Vex families.

It's not much, but it'll serve as a small taste of what to expect from the show until that full trailer debuts.

Krypton is set to premiere sometime in 2018.

I think this show is still a stupid idea, but visually it looks great. I'm also hoping it's part of the DCEU because I'd like to see them start to adapt for the small screen, and even if I don't like the concept, this is a good way to get the ball rolling.

Is it weird that this show with a pretty stupid premise looks better than what should have been a spectacular Inhumans?

If they connect it to Man of Steel then I can get on board with this. Otherwise I will ignore it just like I do Gotham.

@Forthas - I don't think they even can. It's like a hundred years in the past. Plus it looks pretty much like the Krypton we saw in MoS, and that's good enough for me.

@Ayush - Well, Goyer is the creator and he's been strongly pushing it as taking place before Man of Steel and it being part of the DCEU. It's the producers that won't commit to it actually being in that universe and have been acting ambiguous...which is kind of frustrating.

@MrDandy - But wouldn't they have to have Jor-el and Lara-El appear at some point with the SAME actors for it to be connected?
LlamaLord

@Forthas - Why? He'll be a kid.

@Ayush - I noticed that it did look alto like the movie...but if Jor-El and Lara are not the same then I don't know if I could accept it. I guess they could say they are younger versions of them...They should just get the old cast and put this on HBO with a decent budget.

@Forthas - No. It takes place 200 years in the past according to Goyer. None of the characters from MoS should be appearing.

@Forthas - How? A 20 something actor is playing Superman's grandfather in it. How can Russell Crowe play his son?

@Ayush

My bad...

Just based on this image, it does not look like it is good.

Probably won't watch it. I have my fill of Krypton with Supergirl.

OIFF TOPIC - Valerian and the City of Thousand Planets!

The Good:
3D Visuals
Imaginative Alien Designs
Detailed Cultrual and Architectural World Building

The Bad:
Plot
Attempt at Comedy
Wasted "Cameos" by most of the billed Stars

The Ugly:
Chemistry between the leads
Dialogue
Never ending Exposition to Explain it all.

I'd still go see a Sequel.

I think Syfy will really make the best the can with this property, I strongly believe it was their dream to one day produce a comicbook related show...

I don't care about Superman's grandpa

Rather watch a show about Chappelle fighting Kaiju.

Maybe it's not too late for IMAX to back this instead of bargain bin X-Men, I mean Inhumans.

Will Black Bolt have superhuman strength and the ability to fly?, if not, this will suck. (too true fans of the characters).

This has to be the most pointless teaser ever. What are you supposed to take from this apart from few quick shots cut and played really fast. They would have been better just sticking one interesting but small scene to tease it that than what we got here
