Syfy's Krypton is still casting and the latest additions are Ray Donovan's Paula Malcomson and Da Vinci's Demons star Blake Ritson. The former will take on the role of Charys, the matriarch of House El. Charys helps her son Seg (Superman's grandfather in the upcoming series) navigate the treacherous pitfalls of Kandor City, their beloved Kryptonian home embattled with oppression and revolt.

Ritson, on the other hand, will play Brainiac. He's described as a parasitic, hyper-advanced alien android of immense intelligence, Brainiac is one of Superman’s oldest and most dangerous foes.

Krypton is expected to premiere in 2018 and is set two generations before the destruction of the legendary Man of Steel’s home planet. It follows Superman’s grandfather - whose House of El was ostracized and shamed - as he fights to redeem his family’s honour and save his world from chaos.

Krypton boasts an intriguing premise and definitely has potential. What do you guys think of this casting news? Let us know your thoughts on that and Brainiac's TV return in the comments section.

I dunno anything about Syfy, but this show better have an appropriate budget, cause when i heard the premise for this show...f*cking bonkers.
And in order to pull off that shit, you need VFX yo...

But storywise, it's very interesting, even if it was for a comicbook!

Now gimme that Braniac ship!

Some facts about Krypton:

-They had a rigid family caste system
-Krypton had three major city-states: Argo, Kandor, and Kryptonopolis
-Kryptonians only lived on one of the several continents on the planet. The other continents were jungles filled with horrific monsters.
-Kryptons grew clones for use as organ donors. There would eventually be a clone rebellion known as the "Black Zero" war.
-Tomar-Re was the green lantern of their sector. Kryptonians were isolationist and refused aid in any situation from the Green Lanterns
-Krypton had its own Superhero who called himself Nightwing.
- In some realities Brainiac was a Kryptonian computer program
-Doomsday comes from ancient Krypton

@noahthegrand -
If they use Tomar-Re that would be great!
Or show how Jax-Ur destroyed one of Krypton's moon!
Don't even need to mention Rao, and all the things they could do with him, and yes, also Nightwing and Flamebird! :D
