As we get ready for the return of DC TV next week, the CW has gone ahead and released new plot synopses for the week of January 29th, which tease a number of surprising developments.

First up, Supergirl will air another Lena Luthor-centric episode that will once again see her (Katie McGrath) try to clear her name after Morgan Edge (Adrian Pasdar) accuses her of attempted murder. Meanwhile, the episode's B-plot will have Sam (Odette Annable) reach out to Alex (Chyler Leigh) after she realizes that she's been losing time for the past several weeks.

Then, on The Flash, Cisco and Ralph face their worse nightmare when they're shrunk to miniature versions of themselves while Cecile begins to realize that she may be developing superpowers during her pregnancy. It also seems like Barry (Grant Gustin) will still be imprisoned three weeks into the new year as he encounters a mysterious figure from his father's past.

Black Lightning's third hour will shift the focus to Anissa (Nafessa Williams) as she begins to come into her own while that week's Arrow will feature a major showdown between the Green Arrow (Stephen Amell) and the Black Canary (Juliana Harkavy).

Check out all four synopses below:

SUPERGIRL

“For Good” — (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (Content Rating TBD) (HDTV)

MORGAN EDGE THREATENS LENA – Someone tries to kill Morgan Edge (guest star Adrian Pasdar) and he barely survives. He accuses Lena (Katie McGrath) of being behind the attempt and vows to destroy her. When Lena fears her hatred for Morgan will take her to the Luthor dark side, Kara (Melissa Benoist) steps in to help her friend. Meanwhile, after Sam (Odette Annable) realizes she’s losing time, she confides in Alex (Chyler Leigh) who decides to run some medical tests to see if she can find out what’s going on with her new friend. Tawnia McKiernan directed the episode with story by Robert Rovner and teleplay by Cindy Lichtman & Alix Sternberg (#312). Original airdate 1/29/18.

THE FLASH

“Honey, I Shrunk Team Flash” — (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (Content Rating TBD) (HDTV)

THE INCREDIBLE SHRINKING MEN — A meta who can shrink anything he touches battles Team Flash. Cisco (Carlos Valdes) and Ralph (guest star Hartley Sawyer) get caught in his crossfire and are shrunk to miniature versions of themselves. Cecile (guest star Danielle Nicolet) realizes her pregnancy has caused her to have temporary powers and discovers she can hear other people’s thoughts, which unnerves Joe (Jesse L. Martin). Meanwhile, Barry (Grant Gustin) meets someone with a mysterious connection to Henry Allen. Chris Peppe directed the episode written by Sam Chalsen & Judalina Neira (#412). Original airdate 1/30/2018.

BLACK LIGHTNING

“Lawanda: The Book of Burial” — (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET) (TV-14, DLV) (HDTV)

HOLDING OUT HOPE — As Jefferson Pierce (Cress Williams) tries to determine if the community can survive without the help of Black Lightning (Cress Williams), Anissa (Nafessa Williams) starts to come into her own. Meanwhile, Jefferson and Lynn (Christine Adams) try and figure out their new dynamic. Finally, Jennifer (China Anne McClain) reveals to her parents that she has been grappling with something big. James Remar, Damon Gupton and Marvin Jones III also star. The episode was written by Jan Nash and directed by Mark Tonderai (#103). Original airdate 1/30/2018.

ARROW

“All for Nothing” — (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET) (Content Rating TBD) (HDTV)

OLIVER AND DINAH FACE OFF — Oliver (Stephen Amell) continues his battle with Cayden James (guest star Michael Emerson). Supergirl. The PC romantic drama with a few action scenes thrown in here and there.

@GAThrawnIGF - That would suck. Why take the best of the shows off air for so long? Take Arrow instead. It's been pretty bad this season.

Supergirl is getting repetitive with Lena I must admit.

Flash sounds fun and I think Cecile's powers might end up being linked with DeVoe's plans with the whole mind reading. Barry really seems like he is going to be put in prison so they are approaching right the Trial of The Flash story. I am hoping the mysterious person is Dawn so we can confirm it was her, but if not I am willing to be surprised.

Hopefully Arrow picks itself up.

And Black Lightning keeps sounding better and better.
