SUPERGIRL: Lex Luthor Unleashes His Secret Weapon In The New Promo For Season 4, Episode 16: "The House of L"

Lex Luthor (Jon Cryer) made quite the impression in his long-awaited debut and next week, it looks like we're going to get a much better idea on what he's been up to these past few years and what he has planned for the Girl of Steel (Melissa Benoist) and the world in the coming weeks.

He'll kickstart his nefarious plot by finally unleashing his secret weapon: Red Daughter Supergirl! And, based on everything we've seen from her thus far, her arrival is going to be bad news for our titular heroine as she finds herself up against arguably her most powerful - and possibly most unbeatable - adversary yet.

"The House of L" - (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-PG, V) (HDTV)

LEX LUTHOR CONTINUES TO WREAK HAVOC - In the wake of Lex Luthor's (guest star Jon Cryer) return, the show flashes back to what he's been doing for the last two years and how his secret machinations and plans have affected Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and Lena (Katie McGrath). Carl Seaton directed the episode written by Dana Horgan & Eric Carrasco (#416). Original airdate 3/24/2019.

Season three saw Supergirl stop Reign and the other Worldkillers’ threat to humanity and our planet, and in the process, Kara was shocked to find her mother Alura alive and living in a salvaged Argo City that survived the destruction of Krypton. Reconnecting with her past caused Kara to realize that her true home is now here on Earth, where big changes are taking place for her and all of her friends in National City – and also, it appears, for a doppelganger in Russia! Season four promises to be full of surprises, action, adventure and lots of big revelations for Supergirl, Alex, James, J’onn, Lena and Brainy.

Supergirl features:
Melissa Benoist as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl
Mehcad Brooks as James 'Jimmy' Olsen/Guardian
Chyler Leigh as Alexandra 'Alex' Danvers
Jeremy Jordan as Winslow 'Winn' Schott
David Harewood as J'onn J'onzz/Martian Manhunter
Katie McGrath as Lena Luthor
Jesse Rath as Querl Dox/Brainiac 5
Sam Witwer as Ben Lockwood/Agent Liberty
Nicole Maines as Nia Nal/Dreamer
April Parker Jones as Colonel Haley
David Ajala as Manchester Black
Azie Tesfai as Kelly Olsen
Erica Durance as Alura Zor-El
Jon Cryer as Lex Luthor

Good episode tonight!! Strong writing with quality dialogue and good portrayals.

John Cryer killed it as Lex, what a scene stealer. He perfectly portrayed a mischievous Lex who is using all the tricks up his sleeve. The reveal of him pretending to still be crippled was great, and loved how he reacted to Lena figuring out his plan, only to correct her on him having James set up so that the serum could be tested. And Lex's departure from Luthor manor and subsequent take down of all the guards was awesome! Can't wait to see more of him. And wow, didn't expect Otis to still be alive.

The Jonn-Manchester stuff was fine, I especially thought J'onn's arc was good. I was a bit surprised and saddened that Manchester was killed off. He was a great character and portrayed very well, so I was hoping he was going to have more of a role and presence. Though I will say, I thought that his final word's to J'onn in his Martian form, "You're beautiful," were impactful.

@HeavyMetal4Life - It seems we might get to see it next week.

“There’s a super-awesome fight between Lex Luthor and Supergirl that opens the next episode,” Rovner told reporters on Friday. “What’s cool about the fight is that it takes us to the Daily Planet, so we get to see Lex and Supergirl at the Daily Planet messing stuff up.”

“It’s too short, as far as I’m concerned. I could punch her forever,” joked Cryer. “But I have to say, again, the 14-year-old boy in me comes out because we did one of the shots where Supergirl lands on the roof and she’s got the Beyoncé fan blowing her hair and I got chills because it’s just so beautifully done.”
