SUPERGIRL: Saturn Girl & Brainiac-5 Suit Up In New Photos From Season 3, Episode 10: "Legion of Superheroes"

We caught our first official look at Mon-El's Legion costume yesterday and now, The CW has released twenty new promotional photos from next week's episode, offering first looks at Saturn Girl & Brainiac-5!

With Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) temporarily sidelined after her brutal battle with Reign (Odette Annable) in the midseason finale, next week's episode will shift the attention to the Legion of Superheroes as they come together to battle the Worldkiller in order to buy time for Kara to recover.

We saw Mon-El's (Chris Wood) costume yesterday and now, this new batch of photos reveals our first looks at both Saturn Girl (Amy Jackson) in costume and a very blue Brainiac-5 (Jesse Rath). Also, while the stills aren't particularly revealing, it does appear as though Brainiac-5 will play an integral in bringing Kara back to consciousness.

Check out twenty new promotional stills from episode ten, titled "Legion of Superheroes," below:

"Legion of Superheroes" - (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-14, V) (HDTV)

MEET THE LEGION - Struggling to heal from her injuries inflicted by Reign (Odette Annable), Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) remains in a dreamlike state, unable to be reached. Mon-El (Chris Wood) recruits one of the Legion members, Brainiac-5 (guest star Jesse Rath), to try to bring her back. Meanwhile, Reign continues her rampage on the city so the DEO teams up with the Legion of Superheroes to try to stop her. Jesse Warn directed the episode written by Derek Simon & Eric Carrasco (#310). Original airdate 1/15/18.

All of these outfits look like garbage.
I'm surprised these come from the same place

@Kevwebsz - Even those aren't the best. Just pretty good for the CW. I've always wondered how Kara's costume is indestructible if she just made it herself.

@Nightwing1015 - I know right. It should just fall apart and come off every episode

@Kevwebsz - No it just goes to show how far adding the correct colors to a characters costume can benefit their appearance.

@Kevwebsz - Supe's blanket obviously gives her a high lvl clothing benefit

@Nightwing1015 - I always thought (and i think i read it somewhere in old comics) that Supes had a sort of aura protecting his clothes/costumes.. Classic Superman's costume was made by Martha (("Why did you say that name?"))
docgl
docgl - 1/9/2018, 9:56 AM
@Nightwing1015 - that was explained in the comics years ago. The Kryptonian body has an aura that protects the costme touching the skin. That is why capes can get torn but not the costume. That is the explanation DC had at one point.

@Darth258 @docgl That's interesting. I always thought Superman's costume was made out of indestructible material. I suppose that's only some versions.

@Darth258 @docgl
Nightwing1015
Nightwing1015 - 1/10/2018, 5:04 AM
@Luminus - Like I said, it's only some versions of the Superman mythos. Obviously in the Death of Superman it wasn't the case. It makes the most sense to me to have the costume be indestructible though. The aura thing doesn't make sense to me. It's borderline magic.
Luminus
Luminus - 1/10/2018, 5:13 AM
@Nightwing1015 - I never liked the aura excuse. They should've just ignored it, like they do the glasses. Or used to do. They've actually tried to explain that, as well, but there's no explaining it. Like Squirrel Girl and Captain America's magically boomerang shield, it just is.

Actually, someone tried to explain the shield scientifically:

Cool. This season has been solid for the most part. Hoping the last half is much better than the first since there shouldn't be anymore lesbian drama. 3rd best Arrowverse show this season, after Legends and Arrow.
