SUPERGIRL Taps Ian Gomez As Kara's New Boss; First Action Figure For The Series Revealed

It's unclear whether or not Calista Flockhart will return as Cat Grant for Supergirl season two, but new CatCo E-i-C Snapper Carr has now been cast. The first action figure has also been revealed.

Cougar Town alum Ian Gomez has joined the cast of Supergirl season two in the recurring role of Snapper Carr. A relatively obscure character from the comic books with a pretty bizarre history, he served as a mascot of sorts to the Justice League after they teamed up to defeat Starro in their first battle, and has made sporadic appearances since. However, he'll have a very different role here.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Supergirl's Snapper will be, "a headstrong, sharp-witted newsman, hired by Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart) to be the editor-in-chief of CatCo Magazine. Snapper’s commitment to hard-hitting journalism pushes CatCo reporters to dig deeper in the pursuit of excellence. He’s a man who tells people what he thinks of them, and his no-holds barred approach pushes Kara (Melissa Benoist) in unexpected ways." Does this mean Cat is being replaced?

It's too soon to say for sure, but various rumours claim that The CW may have been unable to afford Flockhart and that the actress wasn't keen on making the move from Los Angeles to Vancouver, so we'll have to wait and see. Snapper is set to appear for the first time in episode two, so perhaps we'll get chance to say goodbye to Cat before he takes over! Below is the first Supergirl action figure too.

Uh Josh? The Entertainment Weekly article which you quoted directly states that Cat Grant, played by Calista Flockhart, is the one who hires Snapper Carr. How is that not a confirmation that she's returning?

I'm more impressed they didn't hire the standard CW hottie.
