Only two more episodes until the eagerly-awaited "Elseworlds" crossover, but it sounds like these upcoming two hours may be some of the biggest yet as Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and her friends all find themselves in way over their heads and it looks like it may be Kara that ends up paying the price in next week's episode.

Meanwhile, James (Mechad Brooks) will continue his efforts to get closer to Ben Lockwood (Sam Witwer), but that's easier said than done and may result in him betraying a friend. Elsewhere, Lena Luthor (Katie McGrath) begins her first set of trials for the Harun-El Protocol, which sounds eerily similar to the Everyman Project her big brother Lex (Jon Cryer) cooked up in the comics.

"Rather the Fallen Angel" - (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-PG, V) (HDTV)

CHAD LOWE DIRECTS - James (Mehcad Brooks) falls in deeper with the Children of Liberty in his efforts to meet Agent Liberty (Sam Witwer). Meanwhile, Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and Manchester Black (guest star David Ajala) follow a lead on Agent Liberty's location, but things take a dark turn. Lena (Katie McGrath) kicks off her first set of trials. Chad Lowe directed the episode written by Dana Horgan & Katie Rose Rogers (#407). Original airdate 11/25/2018.

Season three saw Supergirl stop Reign and the other Worldkillers’ threat to humanity and our planet, and in the process, Kara was shocked to find her mother Alura alive and living in a salvaged Argo City that survived the destruction of Krypton. Reconnecting with her past caused Kara to realize that her true home is now here on Earth, where big changes are taking place for her and all of her friends in National City – and also, it appears, for a doppelganger in Russia! Season four promises to be full of surprises, action, adventure and lots of big revelations for Supergirl, Alex, James, J’onn, Lena and Brainy.

Supergirl features:
Melissa Benoist as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl
Mehcad Brooks as James 'Jimmy' Olsen/Guardian
Chyler Leigh as Alexandra 'Alex' Danvers
Jeremy Jordan as Winslow 'Winn' Schott
David Harewood as J'onn J'onzz/Martian Manhunter
Katie McGrath as Lena Luthor
Jesse Rath as Querl Dox/Brainiac 5
Sam Witwer as Ben Lockwood/Agent Liberty
Nicole Maines as Nia Nal/Dreamer
April Parker Jones as Colonel Haley
David Ajala as Manchester Black
Rhona Mitra as Mercy Graves
Robert Baker as Otis Graves
Erica Durance as Alura Zor-El
Jon Cryer as Lex Luthor

I haven't watched tonight's episode yet so idk if anything happened to dispute my theory I just thought of, but since Lex has been said to show up later in the season and we haven't had much time on the Russian Supergirl arc since we are focused on the Agent Liberty arc, and since Lex has been known to dabble around with attempting to clone Kryptonians, my theory is Lex is somehow connected to the Russian Supergirl.

@ArthurFleck - Lex certainly factors in somehow, either funding Mercy Graves and her brother early on, or the Red Daughter. I think he is going to be revealed as the puppet master, pulling strings (perhaps for the last few seasons even).

Good episode, Supergirl continues to deliver pretty solid, strong episodes this season and I think a lot of it has to do with the strength of this Agent Liberty narrative. The children of Liberty was a good plot point. Brainy was great this episode, his fight scene was neat, hope we see more of that.

Glad to see Manchester Black returning, really liking him.

I wasn't a big fan of the drama with James and Lena, it felt unnecessary and forced. James was for the most part the correct person.

Lena's experiments for the most part didn't fit in with the rest of the episode, but I can see where they are going with this.

I will say though, not a big fan of Nia (or whatever her name is). Her story, with the sleep issue, was the weakest part of the episode. Not sure what their plan is for her, but hope they make her storyline a lot better.

Forgot to add that I'm not really a big fan of the Colonel, her weird shifts in demeanor and attitude are a bit weird. But I did like how Alex handled that final scene with her.
