The summer is almost over and that means a lot of our favourite TV shows will be returning in the not too distant future. Thanks to TV Line, we have a gallery of new images from almost all of them, along with new details on characters, casting, and storylines as they each enter another season this October.

For example, you'll find intel on the new version of Harrison Wells in The Flash, some major changes aboard the Waverider in Legends of Tomorrow, and another mutant who coming to The Gifted.

There are no major spoilers here but we do have a lot of information which hasn't previously been released about all of these shows, so read on at your own risk! To check them out, simply click on the "View List" button below and then head down to the comments section to share your thoughts.

The Flash

Apparently, new villain Cicada won't be too concerned with the Scarlet Speedster because his endgame doesn't actually involve The Flash. However, the team will have some help tracking him down from Sherloque Wells, "a master detective from a different earth." Unfortunately, Ralph doesn't take too kindly to there being another detective on the team so it sounds like we should expect them to clash.

Arrow

According to showrunner Beth Schwartz, putting Oliver Queen behind bars means that he and his old foes are now "all on the same playing field." However, wanting to be a model inmate means that he will have to "make different moral choices because of the position he’s in." Meanwhile, Diaz is set to become "more of the Dragon" and we'll learn that the Longbow Hunters are coming to the series.

Supergirl

Are you curious about the second Kara who was introduced at the end of season three? Well, be patient because she's "going to be threaded in as a mystery that doesn’t come to fruition until later this season," according to executive producers Robert Rovner and Jessica Queller. In terms of the new characters who will be revealed this year, Agent Liberty and Dreamer are among those set to appear.

Legends Of Tomorrow

Amaya may have said goodbye to the Legends in the season finale but Maisie Richardson-Sellers will reportedly return to the series as a "mythical fugitive" who the team won't be able to figure out is a friend or foe. Nate, meanwhile, is going to be spending some time in 2018, so that frees up a bunk for new team member, John Constantine as he steps aboard the Waverider to help the heroes out.

Black Lightning

Season two reportedly picks up just one week after the events of the season one finale and showrunner Salim Akil explains that, "We’re going to deal with the consequences of having discovered the pod children; the consequences of Green Light hitting the streets; and the consequences of Jefferson’s daughters discovering they have powers." Sounds great, right?

The Gifted

Apparently, we'll be meeting quite a few new mutants in season two of The Gifted and among them is Twist, a mutant who "initially comes across as a sweet wounded bird." However, she soon reveals herself to be "a sociopath who lives for chaos" and newcomer Anjelica Bette Fellini will play the role.

Supernatural

Michael is looking to purify the world and he's using Dean's body to do it. It's said that Sam and Castiel are desperate to find their friend and the latter will even seek help from "certain people, possibly with black eyes, who he would not normally contact." While all this is happening, Jack and Bobby are teaming up and Naomi and the angels are desperately doing their best to keep heaven in check.

Constantine is what I came here to read about.

Nate's tone is too campy, glad they're giving him a break for a little bit for Constantine. Would have been a bit of a constant tonal clash, whereas most of these other players have played with characters more like Constantine before.
