Like most of the current regulars on The Flash, Danielle Nicolet brought Cecile Horton to life in the first season of The CW superhero drama. However, unlike the others, her role began as a very small one with a total of just two episodes under her belt.

Yet, this all changed in Season 3,  when Cecile became a love interest for Joe West (Jesse L. Martin). From that point on, Nicolet's presence in the series grew, particularly during the fourth season, where she gained some useful telepathic abilities and defended Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) during his trial.

Now, she is set to gain even more face time on the show, as a report from Deadline reveals the actress has been promoted to a series regular for Season 5. How this change will affect the Cecile’s role is unclear, but it marks a significant journey for the actress that began as a minor character in a two-episode arc.

Oh boy. Danielle Nicolet is hot, but Cecile is very annoying. The Flash's writers need to do a better job at writing their female characters, all of them have hit Felicity levels of annoying last season.

@RageDriver2401 - Cecile's probably the least annoying female character in the Arrowverse right now. She's one of the best - along with Patty.

@Nebula - they're all fine until the writer's decide to give them half-baked meaty stories. They nerf other character's abilities to make characters like Iris seem more important, just to score brownie points with the female viewership. They should be making it apparent that these characters are vital to others despite all the powers the others have.

@Krav - I liked Amaya in season 2, season 3 she got weird with the Nate love story.

@RageDriver2401 - that's what i hate with the cw , they introduce characters they gave them great arcs , and then when its over its just one love sorty avec the other

@JourneyIntoMystery @MarvelDCAllDay RageDriver2401 - Did you guys not watch last season? She's going back into reporting, now she's doing her Flash blog again. She'll also probably be the replacement for the STAR Labs satellite with what happened to it in the finale.

@Nebula - that Blog thing was pretty stupid. If someone were to post that there's a guy trying to wipe out all human intelligence people would just write them off as a nut.

But yea, hopefully this opens the door to her becoming a journalist again.

I really liked her, but the whole mind reading thing was a little weird. Especially for a character like her's. Who wasn't on the show long enough to warrant a comical story arc.

@MasterMix - Giving the adorable Cecile powers, was a convenient way to incorporate her into Team Flash. If the writers and producers like the actor and/or the character enough, they'll find ways to make them a part of the main story. That's what obviously happened with the Felicity character, in Season 1 of Arrow.

@JourneyIntoMystery - true. I felt Arkham Knight missed the mark by quite a bit, but it was still an enjoyable game. I don't care if it takes 5 years, deliver a spectacular game, like Santa Monica did with the new God of War.

Since she is basically now Joe’s wife and the new member of the West family a long with the baby it makes sense, plus she has been more featured than David Singh so her position at CCPD works. If the villain is really Cicada and he has been around Central City for a long, long while and he has been more than once in the station due to crimes over the years (like those casting tapes showed from last week) she could help in the investigation.

Don’t get why some want to cut down the team, that won’t happen. Everytime they make the heroes act solo it last short, you all should know that by now and Flash has a solid supporting cast. The only reason why he was “nerfed” was cause he and everyone were up against someone that not only planned for all kinds of outcomes but also had the right set of abilities that made him near invincible to be defeated in a fight by anyone as Marlize said.

I really wonder who will be chosen to play Cicada.
