Fans of the CW’s The Flash saw Danielle Panabaker transform on screen into the metahuman Killer Frost, and now Season 5 will see the star experience a major change behind the camera.

In a recent chat with Entertainment Tonight, Panabaker revealed that she won't just be spending her time on set portraying the character Caitlin Snow, as she will also be stepping into the director’s chair for an episode of The Flash.

Now, as expected, there are no details on the episode she will be directing, but the actress did take the time to express her gratitiude and excitement over the opportunity.

“I am so humbled by this opportunity to utilize everything that I have learned as a storyteller to bring an episode of The Flash to life. I couldn’t be more thrilled to have the chance to work alongside our extremely talented (and vast) team that works so hard to make each and every episode of the show. I wouldn’t be here without the support of my Flash family, and I am so thankful for this opportunity to continue to grow and challenge myself as an artist. “

Danielle Panabaker isn’t the only actress from a superhero TV show to transition into the role of director, as Jessica Jones’ Krysten Ritter tackled that position for an episode of the Marvel and Netflix series. Though, none of that takes away from the significance of this announcement.

Good for her. Try something new. She may like being behind the camera.

Nice.
On a side note, just finished Season 4 and it was pretty much garbage. A struggle to get through. Arrow on the other hand was great.

She's lovely.. though her acting tends to be pretty flat on the show.

Here’s hoping she kills it—she might be the next Penny Marshall.

Yeah well hey, when you've got a series when you're still going by the old fashioned (mind you, not saying it's categorically bad) 20 or more episodes per year when doing a network hour-long, and you get as long into it as they apparently are with FIVE SEASONS now... (oye) hell, I'm surprised they're not letting EVERY CAST MEMBER direct lol... I mean that's a shit load of days to cover.

I bet she won't end up directing the usual Killer Frost episode which would be a given.

First female cast in the DC shows that gets to direct as well.

As for keepíng both Caitlin and Killer Frost, we already saw evil KF in Season 2 and having a struggle is much better. The journey for her this year should solidfy her own take on how to be Killer Frost.
