DC's Netflix Original TITANS is Here, But is it Any Good?

I'm not gonna lie the first trailer for Titans didn't grab me, in fact I thought it looked terrible. Having sat back and watched the show however my mind has been changed.

Titans is DC's first foray on to Netflix and a clear response to the success of Marvel's TV Universe featuring the likes of daredevil, Punisher, Iron Fist, Luke Cage and Jessica Jones. Approaching the generally light hearted, kid friendly Teen Titans from a dark, grittier perspective didn't sit well with many that said, I've never watched Teen Titans. I know, I'm shit! As I hadn't watched or read any of the source material and instead just knew the characters from research done for my own enjoyment, Titans came at me as something both fun and fresh.

With the DCEU heading in a more family friendly, Marvel-esque direction in order to appease fans and get solid box office returns, Titans grabs hold of what remains of DC's movie darkness and drags it on to the small screen and if you as me it does so to great success. Strong writing, engaging character development and story arcs and awesome action, Titans does a lot of good and I couldn't stop watching once  got the ball rolling. Now don't get me wrong, it has its short comings which I discuss in detail in my review but on a whole, I'm really keen to see where Titans goes next.
