TITANS: Get Your First Look At Brenton Thwaites In His Robin Costume

The live-action Titans TV series will co-anchor DC Entertainment's forthcoming streaming platform alongside a new season of the animated series, Young Justice. Brenton Thwaites plays Dick Grayson.

Australian actor Brenton Thwaites was most recently seen in the 5th installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. He was cast in the lead role of Dick Grayson in DC Entertainment's live-action Titans series earlier this year, in August.

It was thought that Thwaites would be suiting up as Nightwing on the show but he just might be saving the day in his Boy Wonder attire, at least at the start of the series. However,
Lindsey Gort (The Carrie Diaries) was cast to play Amy Rohrbach, a Bludhaven Police Det. and partner of Dick Grayson during his stint on the police force. Though the first official image from the show features Thwaites as Robin, will he actually wear his second costume in one of the latter episodes?

Brad Anderson (Fringe, The Wire, The Machinist) is directing the pilot which also stars 24: Legacy actress Anna Diop as Starfire, Home and Away's Teagan Croft as Starfire,  TMNT's Alan Ritchson as Hawk, Friday Night Light's Minka Kelly as Dove and Big Hero 6's Ryan Potter as Beast Boy.  Akiva Goldsman, Geoff Johns and Greg Berlanti wrote the script for the pilot.

Titans is rumored to have a 13-episode first season and will premiere in 2018 as part of the launch line-up of DC Entertainment's untitled streaming platform.

The Robin costume (pictured above) was designed by
Laura Jean Shannon, whose previous credits include Iron Man and The Jungle Book.

@Melkac - Jesus, you sound like a stereotypical girlfriend, putting on her make up! This is a 'comic book movie' site. We get excited for sh!te like this. Don't p!ss on our cornflakes!

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - Agreed! I was tentatively excited, but this first pic shows promise.

@Melkac -
TRIGGERED!!!

But, in all seriousness, the costume looks absolutely perfect. Most of us never thought we would see a Robin look this accurate in live action. It's funny how the TV costume looks way better than the actual movie costumes. As comic book geeks, we are going to be excited about seeing our favourite characters faithfully adapted in live action for the first time.

@Stealthduck - I get that. I mean that it's not worth getting hyped for a tv show just because A costume looks good.

@Melkac - Yes, 'hype' seems to get very overused/misused. It's the new 'awesome'.
As I mentioned, I would say that this first look is definitely a positive.
So far.

Very Very Nice! This show has my attention now but is this another whole new streaming platform or an already established one?

@fanDomX - A whole new one just for DC products, so probably the most restrictive and lacking of variety one yet unfortunately.

@TheUnworthyThor - oh dang, thanks. don't know why i haven't heard of this DC stream platform. sucks that there are several new shows that are being announced, that im looking forward to, but all on different stream services. Oh well the way things are going Disney will buy up everything and i'll only end up having to pay for one streaming service. Haha ;)
