We recently got our first look at some footage from FX on Hulu's highly-anticipated adaptation of Brian K. Vaughan's acclaimed Y: The Last Man, and a new teaser has now been released which puts the spotlight on Ashley Roman's Agent 355.

In the comics, "Three-Fifty" is a secret agent who is part of the Culper Ring, a mysterious United States government agency. She is (reluctantly) assigned to protect Yorick Brown (Ben Schnetzer) as his bodyguard, but doesn't exactly relish the prospect of keeping the rather useless "last man" alive when he becomes the target of various different groups.

It looks like the show will follow suit if this promo is any indication, although the pair do form a much closer bond as the story continues.

Check out the new teaser below, and let us know if you're looking forward to the show.

Eliza Clark (Animal Kingdom) is on board as showrunner, and the cast also features Olivia Thirlby, Diane Lane, Amber Tamblyn, Marin Ireland, Diana Bang, Elliot Fletcher and Juliana Canfield.

Louise Friedberg is directing the first two episodes from Clark's script. All 10 Season 1 episodes will be helmed by women.

Y: The Last Man is set to premiere on September 13.

I’ve been waiting for this series for a long time! I hope it will be great and it’s definitely built for the “woke” era in which we find ourselves. This is the only comic book of which I can think, they suits the “woke” era.

Not sure how exactly it suits the Woke era... the concept of biological males being wiped out is bound to cause a stir, already has to an extent with those working on it stating that trans-women survived...

@Scarilian - no, they said transmen survived while transwomen died. They said they will acknowledge the existence of both. Gender and sex aren't the same thing.

Potentially, honestly sounds like the series will delve heavily into identity politics - here is a remark from Nina Jacobson the executive producer:

"the show is asking questions about what is gender, what is identity, what makes a man, what makes a woman, what makes a human being, and what are the parts of our identity that have been imposed upon us by society and what are the parts of our identities that are truly us?”

Personally I feel that would distract from the concept the story is trying to tell - it's difficult to have a show about all males dying when you are purposefully including the concept of transmen - you are going to wind up angering people no matter how you tackle it.

Would have made more sense for the series to ignore those aspects and just tell the story of a world where all men died except one.
