The second season of Westworld is believed to be premiering in Spring of this year, and when it does fans will see at least one familiar face. Actor Jimmi Simpson has confirmed his return for season 2. It's unclear how large of a role the actor will have in the new season, but he did reveal to reporters at the Television Critics Association's press tour that he's at least returning to Sweetwater in some capacity.

“I mean, yeah, I pop in,” Simpson revealed. “I wish there was exploration between the time when Williams’ heart was broken and we see the result. I want to know how much it takes and how hard he tried to not go there. But I don’t write the story.”

Warning: SPOILERS for Westworld Season 1

Jimmi played lovestruck theme park guest William who, by the end of season 1, was revealed to have been a younger version of the nefarious Man in Black (Ed Harris), his story told through flashbacks. Details for Season 2 are sparse, but it's possible the show could continue exploring the early days of the character.

HBO has yet to announce a premiere date for Westworld season 2, but if it is indeed debuting this spring, expect marketing to begin soon-ish.

@Doomsday8888 - This show is freaking awesome, and I'm excited to see how they interweave the Japanese samurai world into the story.

@Doomsday8888 - So did I but I can't see how they would be allowed to continue after the events of season one. The end felt like a series finale not a season one.

Fantastic show, season 1 was excellent. Wonder what they will do with Will, kind of felt like his story had been completed. Can't wait to see my favorite character from the show again.

Off topic, but what's the deal with the Gambit movie losing all of these directors? What are they seeing that we're not?

@Derdpool - I think they are seeing what we all believe, they just know the actual details. This movie has been nothing short of troubled and at some point they need to just move on. Its been in development hell for years now and will remain that way for at least the time being.

@HeavyMetal4Life

I agree that giving him a feature film was a mistake. I love Gambit, but (not unlike Black Widow) I think he'd be better served by using his as a supporting character to introduce him and his personality to audiences, and then build to a solo movie further down the line.

He's a nuanced character with a complex back-story. Better to dole it out in bite-sized pieces, rather than force-feeding it to a creative team with little understanding of the character.

@Derdpool - totally agree. And I really don't want Channing Tatum to play the character.

I would love the twist of him returning, knowing what we know about the Man in Black, as now one of the Host. Like someone there decided to mess with the MIB by adding to the new story the younger William, to mentally manipulate him.

@TheLight - that would be cool. Could have him as the big bad

@Kevwebsz - OOOoooo hell ya! I hadn't thought of fan-casting him, but he is pretty great. I never really realized it until I saw him on "Person of Interest" His charisma really stood out.

Sad Hopkins won’t be back it wasn’t his best work but was always to see him on screen. I love Japanese culture so looking forward to seeing that in season 2.
