WESTWORLD: Caleb Starts At The Beginning In The New Promo For Season 3, Episode 7: "Passed Pawn"

Next week, on the penultimate episode of season three, Westworld delves into the unexplored past of Caleb and it looks like things are about to get really interesting as we head into the final two hours.

After tonight's shocking twist-filled installment, only two episodes now remain before Westworld season three comes to a close and it looks like they're really building up to one helluva finale as Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) puts the final steps in her master plan in motion.

Plot details are under wraps, but the synopsis reads, "A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out.," which is likely in reference to Caleb (Aaron Paul). The promo does spend much of its one-minute runtime highlighting moments from his mysterious past, so it seems like the penultimate hour is going to spend a lot of time covering his backstory and possibly revealing more about Dolores' plan for him.

Helen Shaver is directing the episode, which is her first of the series. Her past credits include, but are not limited to, Judging AmyElementary, Person of InterestOrphan Black, ImpulseVikings and two episodes from TNT's upcoming Snowpiercer series.

Damn, what a fcking awesome episode! Maybe the best one of the season so far, followed by ep 2, 4, and then 5.

Westworld is better when we either are in Westworld (or one of the parks), with William, or a bit of both. On the William side of things, I actually really loved taking a deeper dive into his psyche. Seeing Delos (he was great in season 2), different versions of William (including Jimmi Simpson, always great) was awesome. And I thought that William working through his inner demons, even killing them off and realizing he was the good guy was great. I'm glad Bernard and Stubbs were there to free him at the end, though I'm wondering what plans Dolores has with William.

I also really enjoyed the story with Serac and Hale, the more Serac the better, he just oozes swagger. Him taking and reasserting control, getting things back to normal, etc. was sweet. I liked how Hale thought she had the upper hand, and did at times (so did he block her data from being sent out, seemed like he was saying 'oh you thought you really sent that out'), but Serac largely was letting her think this way. Shame about Hector though, but now Maeve has a real drive in her to eliminate Dolores about one of her killed her love. I had a feeling Hale's family would bite it but didn't quite expect them to go out like that.

Next week's episode looks like it will be just as great as this one.

So, at 0:33 in the trailer, is this a reveal that William is actually a host?
Seems Maeve takes a swing at Dolores at 0:35.
