Clark Gregg reprises his role of Agent Phil Coulson from Marvel’s feature films as he assembles a small, highly select group of Agents from the worldwide law-enforcement organization known as S.H.I.E.L.D. Together they investigate the new, the strange, and the unknown across the globe, protecting the ordinary from the extraordinary. Coulson’s team consists of Agent Grant Ward (Brett Dalton), highly trained in combat and espionage, Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen) expert pilot and martial artist, Agent Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker); brilliant engineer and Agent Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) genius bio-chemist. Joining them on their journey into mystery is new recruit and computer hacker Skye (Chloe Bennet). From Executive Producers Joss Whedon (“Marvel’s The Avengers,” ”Buffy the Vampire Slayer”); Jed Whedon & Maurissa Tancharoen, “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” pilot co-writers (“Dollhouse,” “Dr.Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog”); Jeffrey Bell (“Angel,” “Alias”); and Jeph Loeb (“Smallville”) comes Marvel’s first TV series. “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” is produced by ABC Studios and Marvel Television and will premiere on Tuesday, September 24th at 8:00 P.M. Eastern Time on ABC Network.

Oh come on fan peoples, I get what you're saying about the snarky humor and its equally ugly girlfriend, irony, but how can it not be a better world when Shield has its own weekly show?

Looking forward to this. Joss Whedon + episodic tv + Marvel properties = pure win.

This isn’t the entirety of SHIELD its just one small response unit. Im eager to see what happens with this since I loved Firefly. I think this site as of recently became a bunch of people that likes to complain about stuff for no reason. Im getting less and less excited about hearing others opinions and it disappoints me because that was one of the highlights of my day for 5 years now. Anyway I think this will be a show that I watch regularly.

All this big hype n heavy promotions, it better live up to it...
I'm not that that 100% crazy about it, cos main cast isnt a comicbook superhero. Sorry. And I don't care what anybody says. I love me some superheroes...hehe...

I dont understand why everyone is mad that the main cast isnt superheroes/// That is the point of SHIELD! They are the guys that dont have powers but they deal with powers every day. That makes them 100 percent braver than those with powers. I like the bits of Snark here and there, as long as they dont over load on it like they did in IM3. Joss Whedon is good with that kinda thing. Other writers....not so much.

I'm really into espionage/spies/government agencies. That kind of stuff is fascinating and interesting to me.

Obviously, I'm really excited for AOS, but I could certainly understand why other people aren't as excited.

It's not a show centered around superheroes, which makes it underwhelming for quite a bit of people.

@UncleDrew TV shows always add to the initial cast as seasons go on. We could see Clay Quartermain eventually.

I'm hoping to see Daisy Johnson on AOS myself.

@Darlene This about the MCU from the perspective of S.H.I.E.L.D., not The Avengers. I hear what you're saying though.

And bringing in superhero guest characters on TV shows is always a huge ratings grabber, so you can bet on superheroes making an appearance.

I actually read RDJ and Tom Hiddleston are open to appearing on the show. :)

I can't wait to see what kind of connections with future movies will be. I'd love for minor things to pop up like a inside joke that only people who watch the show will get.

Great idea.

Don't get me wrong folks I'm gonna watch the crap out of this show and I'm not ungrateful for the fact we have a weekly chance to step into the MCU, that's awesome! It's just the more dialogue I hear, the more interactions I see the less interested I get. It really looks too polished and maybe a little campy? Marcel's good at injecting humor in their films but can we try to take it a little more seriously? Idk. I'm not gonna judge till I see it. 22 more days!

life has funny moments in it. I mean, at least they are doing Lampshade comedy. Because the walking out of the shadows reveal is done waaaay to often and honestly it makes it feel more real that people would joke about that kinda stuff. I know i would xD as longas the dont sacrifce character for comedy like some movies with 3 in the title i will be fine. also the comedy has to feel natural like in Avengers where its not that theway they said it was funny it is what they said and the context of the situation that is funny.

I was just hoping Jessie Bradford and Lizzy Caplan were in it though. I was so excited to here about the show after seeing "Item 47" infront of Avengers and believing they were going to be there.

I'm really looking forward to this and I think that it's going to be great, but there is something that is slightly off-putting to me about how young most of the cast is. I'm sure they will all be great, but I think there needs to be some more middle aged blood in there alongside Coulson and May.
localman22
localman22 - 9/2/2013, 1:23 PM
I'm very much looking forward to this. I suspect that it will focus more on a mix of comedy and action, using Coulson's deadpan to the limits.

And one thing that will probably bring complaints . . . while the special effects will be very good for a TV show, AOS is still operating on a TV-sized budget. That may be one reason why it will focus on non-superhero agents rather than actual superheroes: those special effects are expensive. Even back on the old Hulk TV show, they were almost always limited to two "Hulk-outs" per episode because that was the most expensive part of the show.

Chill out, and just enjoy the fact that we have a show set in the Marvel Universe. I'm sure there will be superheroes and cameos along the way.

Fcck, Fett is right. When did Marvel properties start showing on up the WB? It may show on ABC, but smells kinda WB.

Movie/TV SHIELD is super lame. Is 'Hero's for Hire' too hard to translate to the small screen? SHIELD is sexier?

If this is where ABC is gonna go with their Marvel properties for TV, make mine DC! OK.. maybe not that drastic, but count me out.
