Tonight's episode saw Quake (Chloe Bennet) and Ruby (Dove Cameron) square off and while Daisy did unsurprisingly win the battle, she was still unable to capture her young admirer when General Hale (Catherine Dent) showed up and shot Deke (Jeff Ward), leading Daisy to fallback to help her friend.

Meanwhile, Coulson (Clark Gregg) dealt with personal issues of his own and finally had a heart-to-heart with May (Ming-Na Wen) where she called him out for his recent reckless and impulsive behavior. She ended the chat by telling Coulson that she loved him, which left him speechless leading into next week's hour.

Watch the new promo for episode eighteen, titled "All Roads Lead...," below:

In light of the Sokovia Accords, and with Hydra obliterated, S.H.I.E.L.D. has been legitimatized again and no longer needs to operate in the shadows. Since the world presumes that Coulson is dead, the organization needed a new Director (Jason O’Mara) to be the face of the organization. Coulson finds himself back in the role as an agent and teamed with Mack (Henry Simmons), and together they are tasked with tracking down and confirming the presence of Enhanced people, aka Inhumans. They have been trying to track down and capture Daisy (Chloe Bennet), aka Quake, who has gone rogue in an attempt to atone for sins from the past. But with the world believing that Daisy is a dangerous outlaw who has taken down banks and bridges, the new Director has no qualms about taking her down for good. Agent May (Ming-Na Wen) is tasked with training specialist strike teams, and Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) and Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) have taken a big step forward in their relationship. But with Simmons’ new promotion as Special Advisor to the Director in Science and Technology, Fitz, as well as her former team members, finds it hard to confide in or trust her since she’s now the Director’s confidant.

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. features:
Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson
Ming-Na Wen as Melinda May
Chloe Bennet as Daisy Johnson/Quake
Iain De Caestecker as Leo Fitz
Elizabeth Henstridge as Jemma Simmons
Henry Simmons as Alphonso "Mack" MacKenzie
Natalia Cordova-Buckley as Elena "Yo-Yo" Rodriguez
Nick Blood as Lance Hunter

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns with an all-new episode April 13

Did they put Anton's brain back on of the LMD bodies? Last time I recall when May and Coulson fought his bodies none of them shut down, they just destroyed them. The idea is that his brain is somewhere else safe and sound and as long as it is active the bodies will keep coming. This shouldn't be the last we see of him. And thus they shouldn't have shut down after Yo-Yo destroyed that one with the fall.

Besides that it was a good episode. Even if I find Philinda unnecessary, I like them a lot better as bffs that have been there always. But I liked that May acknowledged that Quake is unfit to be the leader.

Ruby might end up with some slight physical changes once she gets the gravitonium. Don't expect to see Franklin Hall emerge or Quinn btw. Quinn's actor retired from acting in 2015 and Hall's got pissed with the show when they didn't continue his story afterwards so just a heads up about that.

@NinnesMBC - Nope. His brain is still by itself. Remember, last time when May and Coulson were fighting him, all the bodies were autonomous. Here, Anton is effectively serving as the superior that the drone mechs answers to. So its a different situation/scenario, and makes perfect sense as to why they all shut down.
NinnesMBC
NinnesMBC - 4/13/2018, 8:10 PM
@HeavyMetal4Life - They were autonomous because his brain now was separated from his body, that was how AIDA fixed him and actually made him a bit more fearsome. But okay if now he is "the superior" body that others answer to when did that happen? Did they show it or did he explained it? It doesn't make sense to me because it contradicts what we knew of him the last time we saw him.

@NinnesMBC - i think it is either a safe guard put in place by hale by limiting the number of bodies his brain can control at any one time or its a product of no longer being able to create lmds on the same level without aida
HeavyMetal4Life
HeavyMetal4Life - 4/13/2018, 8:12 PM
@NinnesMBC - Its not contradictory at all. Those mechs are not equivalent to various Anton's. They are drones. We don't need to be told episode's ago that he is "their superior." We are shown it now and it makes complete sense. And yes, that is why the Anton's are autonomous; that's not what I was talking about.
HeavyMetal4Life
HeavyMetal4Life - 4/13/2018, 8:13 PM
@lemric - that too, regarding creating LMDs on the same level without Aida. That is something Coulson even hinted at several episodes ago.
NinnesMBC
NinnesMBC - 4/13/2018, 8:20 PM
@lemric - The production of LMDs was from a machine, it wasn't an ability anyone could do though. But I would be willing to accept that reason as for why if the show stated it.
JDL
JDL - 4/13/2018, 8:20 PM
@NinnesMBC - If Hale could have acquired LMD quality brains she would have, implying imo that no more can be made by Ivanov.

NinnesMBC
NinnesMBC - 4/13/2018, 8:22 PM
@HeavyMetal4Life - But the drones/mechs are all commanded by the brain, the only human part left of Anton that AIDA cared to remove that knew would be important. If something were to happen to that brain then it'd be game over for all the Antons it is able to control or send his conscious to. It is the reason he has also been fan-nicknamed by the fandom as the show's version of MODOK too.

Let's just agree to disagree about that then.
NinnesMBC
NinnesMBC - 4/13/2018, 8:24 PM
@JDL - Only AIDA was shown tampering with that ability to make brains and a degree of consciousness for the LMDs she created, the LMD!May more specifically. But the show hasn't alluded to any of that it seems. Her goal hasn't shown to be aimed in any of the LMDs or the machine that created them, so far.
HeavyMetal4Life
HeavyMetal4Life - 4/13/2018, 8:24 PM
@NinnesMBC - I have no idea what you're talking about. The brain, the original Anton brain, is separate from the LMD Anton's. Nothing is happening to his brain in a jar. I think you're a bit confused about what's actually going on regarding Anton and the drones.
NinnesMBC
NinnesMBC - 4/13/2018, 8:34 PM
@HeavyMetal4Life - Alright then. Lets just leave it at what I meant at the start: he is not done as long as the brain's still around.
lemric
lemric - 4/13/2018, 8:42 PM
@NinnesMBC - but if that machine was buried at the bottom of the ocean because it sank when the base got blown up, then anton wouldnt necessarily have the knowledge to remake it to the extent that aida would. also, we dont know that anton's bodies are the exact same as the other lmds they made last season. one thing about him i feel they havent been clear on is if his brain is remotely controlling the bodies or not. i feel like that has to be the case, otherwise whats the point of having the brain still. so if we assume they are remotely controlled and not independent units each with an upload of his brain, then they may not have those special brains to reverse engineer. meaning the drones need to receive orders from a control unit, which may be limited to the one body hale allows anton to have active at any given time

and it was mentioned by coulson. he asked anton why the new bots didnt have his face. anton claims its because its not needed as they are just soldiers but coulson posits that it was because without aida, anton wasnt able to make full fledged lmds. and in the same scene, we find out that hale has anton's head hidden somewhere, so it wouldn't be surprising that she would have safe guards in place.

i agree, it would be nice to be told a bit more information about them and their situation though

(took me a while to put my thoughts together, so this was in response to your response of my response XD)
NinnesMBC
NinnesMBC - 4/13/2018, 8:50 PM
@lemric - Naturally he wouldn't have the knowledged to do, that is only something Radcliffe or AIDA and mayyybe Fitz could reproduce. Anton is on his own with as much bodies he was able to get before that happened. I don't really think there is much of a different between his LMDs and the ones we saw. They are the same except their are monitored by his human brain. I agree it has to be his brain, it is why AIDA removed it and preserved it. My entire point boils down to that the brain manages all the Anton LMDs around. Just because a particular body is defeated it shouldn't mean the others will shut down ala Phantom Menace, they should be taken down as well. Makes sense?

Well that explains things further with Hale having his head somewhere safe.

Glad we agree on that.

Now that the week is over, some very strong episodes this week:

1. Arrow (great)
2. Legends (great)
3. Black Lightning (very good)
4. Gotham (very good)
5. SHIELD (pretty good)
6. Legion (good)
7. Flash (meh)

Usually SHIELD would be number 1, its just that the other shows had great episodes this week too. Competition!
