AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Synopsis Teases A Big Revelation For Episode 7

Marvel and ABC have released the synopsis for the seventh episode of Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 3, "Chaos Theory", and based on the breakdown it's going to be an eventful one. Will we finally discover the real identity of the seemingly unstoppable Lash? More past the jump...

A couple of weeks ago on Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D., we found out that monstrous Inhuman-hunter Lash (Mathew Willig) could actually switch to a more human looking form when Daisy (Chloe Benett) spotted his shadow shrinking down following his attack on the ATCU van.

The character can't change form like that in the comics, so this interesting twist has led many to speculate that Lash might be someone we've met already - and the prevailing theory is that someone is May's ex husband, Dr. Garner (Blair Underwood), who seemed to have been killed at the conclusion of that episode (more on that in this spoilery clip)

As Agent Daisy Johnson (Chloe Bennet) and the team fight to protect Inhumans, S.H.I.E.L.D. discovers the shocking truth about one of their biggest foes. Meanwhile, Agent Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) helps Agent Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) recover information that could lead them back through the portal. Guest starring Constance Zimmer as Rosalind Price, Matthew Willig as Lash, Juan Pablo Raba as Joey Gutierrez, Powers Boothe as Gideon Malick.

As you can see, Willig is guest-starring, and since Lash is currently one of the team's biggest foes, there's a very good chance we'll discover his real identity in the "Chaos Theory" episode. Be sure to tune in for Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. later tonight to see if we get any more hints or clues about this.

The mystery behind Lash was set up sooooo well, but I feel like the revelation that it's Andrew, isn't all that masterful a reveal. It was pretttttty obvious it was him

Still loving this season

Andrew isn't Lash. Could be another inhuman, but.not.Lash.

Looks like they desperately want us to believe that Andrew is Lash...

@dragons292014 I hope you're right but it seems like they're leaning towards that uneventful surprise

Is Andrew too obvious? Or are they making us think he's too obvious so it is Andrew? Or are they making us think its too obvious that we think its too obvious???

@ComicsBornAndBred: AoS has been always known to throw a huge curveball. This seems to be one of the cases.

No one expected Jiaying to be the big bad, we suspected it was Gonzalez. Jiayinf being the big bad was a fan theory which was impossible in any way.

And don't forget that Ward twist.

Hopefully I am right.

Too bad, but I guess we can't all be entertained by the same things. You're still cool in my book. For now. Don't think I won't keep an eye on you in the future.

Seriously though, which one's your favourite CBTV show atm? :)

I'm horrible at favorite lists, AOS isn't bad, I just lost interest after the first episode this season

Daredevil is definitely tops for me, but I'm not even sure if that's a fair comparison because of how much more freedom they have on Netflix. I'm really surprised that I'm liking Gotham as much as I am, once you get past the deviation from the source material, it has some pretty solid arcs, especially for Penguin and Riddler

I'm sure I'll rune back into AOS as the season goes on

And, Surprise Mother[frick]er (I hope you watched Dexter or else that will make absolutely no sense)

Lash = Rosalind Pike

Go back and watch the episode when Daisy says "it could be anyone"...right after that, the curtain opens revealing Rosalind.

Also, look closely at the shadow after he transforms...it's a small/slender figure.

You can thank me later

Andrew is NOT Lash.
Ward has been sharing secrets with Rosalind and the ATCU.
Lash and the portal that abducted Simmons are connected.

Best show on TV IMO.

Sadly I never really got into Dexter. I missed getting on board early on, and at a certain point there were simply too many seasons for me to catch up, it being a show that never really intrigued me all that much. So no, this doesn't make much sense to me, although I've encountered "surprise mother[frick]er" guy all over the internet. ;)

Gotham, especially in S2, is really becoming a highly enjoyable watch for me. I've more or less accepted that alternate universe for what it is, and with those issues and Fish gone the two things that really bothered me are out of the way.

Good theory on Rosalind but here's who Lash can't be:
Coulson or Rosalind or her right hand man (they were on the Metro when Lash attacked Lincoln)
Hunter (was on the Metro too)
Daisy (fought Lash with Lincoln)
Mack (fought Lash with Daisy & Lincoln)
Simmons (on another planet)

I really don't think he's anyone we've seen yet...

@Kyos: Honestly this is the only CBTV I am interested.

Flash has been boring, same old shit this days. Arrow has a good episode( yeah, watched the leak) this week, and sadly the only episode that has been good. Wouldn't bother watching Gotham and Supergirl.

Haha, Cool, I hear you, Dexter season 1 & 2 are great Tv, especially season 2, but then it just slowly drops off the grid and becomes almost unrecognizable as the seasons go on, imo. The "Surprise Mother[frick]er" character is Doakes, great character, and those 2 seasons really play with the secret identity concept in a unique way. If you ever want to watch it, I'd say seasons 1 & 2 are the best

Right on, totally agree about season 2 of Gotham, Fish was one of my main issues with season 1, I'm really hoping that Jean Paul Valley's father shows up too, I'm a huge fan of the Knightfall comic arc and I would love to see any incarnation of Valley or Valley's father on screen, I'm hoping we get Azrael on the big screen eventually too

AoS just isn't bringing it for me this season.

I'm hoping it turns around, but so far Season 2 is my favorite.

Hmm...sounds like Arrow all over again.

@dragons292014

AOS is my favourite of the currently running shows, I'm just a bit more attached to these characters. I was enjoying Flash a whole damn lot, but already towards the end of S1 I lost some of my initial enthusiasm. I still like quite a bit, though. Arrow could pretty much only improve after S3, and imo it does, enough at least to keep me watching.

Gotham is... actually pretty good at being whatever the hell it is. Haven't seen enough of Supergirl to form an opinion, but I'm not sure it'll be something I can't wait to watch every week. I really like Melissa Benoist as Kara, but the supporting cast hasn't really won me over, and neither has the writing.

If it isn't too [frick]ed up to stop after two seasons I might give the beginning of Dexter another chance at some point. I've heard good things about the show, especially when it was relatively new. Now all I need is the time...

Gotham is such a curious thing. It somehow manages to incorporate elements from many of the previous Batman incarnations, while being further away from having an actual Batman than Smallville ever was from having Superman. Also, as far as live action Batman goes, it seems to me like it has an almost unprecedented level of graphic violence. Just an overall weird affair, that show. (*-*)'

@Kyos: Haven't felt the improvement on Arrow. Though, this week's Arrow wasn't that bad. A decent episode. Flash hasn't been impressive at all, hell I used to like Flash more than AoS S2 for the first half.

@PsychoticSpaceRaccoon: Here's me thinking AoS has been stellar than probably any CB Tv this season. Different opinions, different tastes it is.

And please don't spook me by bringing Arrow S3 here.

Haha, totally, I actually never got into Smallville, it just never struck a chord with me.

I was totally against Gotham at first too, but it's really grown on me, it really is an odd affair, and it opens my mind up in a lot of ways, because it brings some of those characters into situations that I never imagined that they would be in, or that I've never seen on screen.... if that makes sense. It cool too, because it's entirely it's own thing, and I don't have to worry about connectivity or anything.

Like what they did with Riddler last episode, I've always wanted to see that type of stuff on screen for his character and their doing it really well, multiple personalities and everything, and they had that blur effect last episode that was really cool. It made me want to read Zero Year again

Interesting theory but Blair Underwood isn't listed as a guest star that episode. So unless the producers are deliberately leaving him off to obscure him as a possible candidate for Lash, I'm starting to believe Lash could possibly be Gideon Malick, the character, Powers Boothe is playing. There has to be a reason why the character dropped off the world security council between Avengers and The Winter Soldier.
