Poor Jeffrey Mace has not been having a very nice time of it lately.

In this clip from Tuesday's episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., "The Man Behind the Shield", The Superior taunts the director for allowing himself to be pumped full of super-serum before things take a turn for the violent. Mace is confident that Coulson and the team will rescue him, but as we saw from the recent promo, that's not going to prove to be an easy task.

Do you guys think we might be saying farewell to Mace in this episode? Sound off below.

A DEADLY TRAP LURES COULSON IN TO SAVE MACE “The Man Behind the Shield” – Mace fights for his life while Coulson and team find themselves in a deadly cat-and-mouse game as they attempt his rescue, on “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 14 (10:00-11:00 p.m. EST), on the ABC Television Network.

Might be because Fitz gets to shine a lot more than he did at the beginning of this season, but I think I might just be enjoying the LMD arc even more than Ghost Rider.

Which is better?

Days of Future Past or Doctor Strange?

Iron Man or Batman Begins?

Have your say!

Mace is so dead.

I hope I'm wrong. I like his character and the actor playing him.

Man, never thought Mace was so ripped. He is a good character and I hope we get to see more of his backstory.

@2pacman - I was looking at the internets over the weekend for clues as to this kind of stuff. The Wikipedia Page for the MCU has some great stuff. Most of the scarcity of TV characters in the movies is due in large part to scheduling but I do think Dr Strange will show up to deal with The Darkhold. I also think that Coulson will show up in Infinity War. Watched Iron Man over the weekend and Coulson was the glue that brought the whole MCU together. He has to play a role in IW. He has to!
